Chapter 084: Everything According to Brother Le's Arrangements
Because his car was wrecked beyond repair, Lin Le had no choice but to take a taxi to school the next morning. As soon as he sat down, his desk mate, Lu Hongzhe, grabbed him and told him that Zhao Hu had already withdrawn from school. In addition, he’d heard that Ji Guihua had gone to Principal Gao Youde’s office early that morning to resign.
For students from ordinary families like Lu Hongzhe, this was absolutely something worth celebrating. For more than two years, they had grown used to taking detours to avoid Zhao Hu and his gang, yet still found themselves bullied frequently. Because of this, Lin Le held quite a reputation among students of modest means at Haizhou No. 1 High—he was almost seen as a hero.
Yet there were no shortage of students who harbored jealousy toward Lin Le. He had only transferred a short time ago and had already made a splash: defeating Zhao Hu, driving away the so-called “Combat Ji,” gaining the favor of the Tianxiong Gang, and attracting the attention of the peerless beauty, Miss Gu. He was, in every sense, a winner in life. The so-called scions of noble families could hardly bear it.
Lin Le, naturally, paid little heed to their opinions, nor to Zhao Hu and Ji Guihua’s affairs, which he had already anticipated. Early that morning, he’d received a wire transfer of ten million from Zhao Mingyi’s company. Evidently, the events of last night had terrified the Zhao family; they had rushed to settle everything before Lin Le arrived at school, not daring even to meet him face-to-face.
By now, their family of three had most likely fled Haizhou altogether.
Then there was the matter of the villa at Splendid Age Court. After the transfer, Zhao Mingyi had sent Lin Le a message in which he cursed his own actions over the years and begged for forgiveness. The villa had been completely cleared out, workers hired to renovate, and once the work was finished, the keys would be mailed to Lin Le’s residence.
One had to admit, though Zhao Mingyi’s character left much to be desired, he was a master at groveling—every detail handled perfectly, which was a talent in itself.
Lin Le had originally planned to move his father, Lin Tenghui, into the villa once the Zhao family vacated, but now it seemed wiser to wait until the renovations were complete.
As Lin Le was pondering all this, Lu Hongzhe suddenly leaned in with a mysterious air. “By the way, Le, did you hear about what happened in North City?”
“North City? What happened?” Lin Le asked in confusion.
“You haven’t heard? The underground boss there, Wu Sanxing, apparently died suddenly from a heart attack two nights ago!” Lu Hongzhe was notoriously gossipy, not only about school beauties but also about these underworld stories.
“A heart attack?” Lin Le couldn’t help but smile wryly, though he understood. There weren’t many people present that night—mostly members of Black Star Society, now led by Yao Kun. It was obvious Yao Kun had orchestrated everything. It seemed Yao Kun was reliable enough; after Lin Le saved his life, he quickly reciprocated, proving his loyalty.
While Lin Le and Lu Hongzhe were chatting, a group of over ten tall, imposing figures approached, standing nearby and startling Lu Hongzhe so much he shrank back.
Such a commotion immediately drew the attention of the entire class.
“Damn, Pan Hao, what… what do you guys want?” Lu Hongzhe thought Pan Hao and his group were there to cause trouble.
“Hongzhe, don’t misunderstand, we’re not here for trouble,” Pan Hao replied with a broad smile.
“Hongzhe?” Lu Hongzhe hadn’t quite registered his new status—he’d never been called “brother” before, let alone by Pan Hao, the class overlord of Senior Three, Class Eight. It felt as if the sun had risen in the west.
“If you’re not here to cause trouble, then what is it?” Lu Hongzhe asked in bewilderment.
“We’re here to admit our mistakes to Le! Le, it was all our fault before. Please, be magnanimous and forgive us!” With that, Pan Hao bowed deeply to Lin Le.
“Please, forgive us, Le!” The basketball team members behind Pan Hao bowed just as deeply.
The sight of over a dozen tall, athletic basketball players bowing to Lin Le was truly spectacular. The whole class erupted in astonishment.
Everyone knew Pan Hao’s reputation—he was untouchable in Class Eight, Senior Three, and nobody dared cross him. Yet, in just a few days, Lin Le, the transfer student, had completely subdued him.
Lin Le understood what was on Pan Hao’s mind.
Previously, Pan Hao had Zhao Hu backing him and Ji Guihua cleaning up his messes, so he dared misbehave. Now, with Zhao Hu withdrawn and Ji Guihua resigned, Pan Hao had lost his support and feared Lin Le would settle scores, ending up driven out like Zhao Hu. Now, none of them dared act tough; instead, they came to Lin Le to make peace.
Whether their submission was out of fear or sincerity, Lin Le had no interest in holding grudges against ordinary students without any martial prowess—it would be beneath him as a master.
“Since you know your mistake, I won’t hold it against you,” Lin Le said calmly.
“Thank you, Le!” Pan Hao and his group were elated.
That morning, they’d heard from Zhao Hu about Lin Le’s skills and methods, and all feared he’d take revenge. Unexpectedly, he was gracious—a pleasant surprise.
“But…” Lin Le added, and Pan Hao’s group instantly fell silent.
“This is a school, a place for learning. I hope you won’t cause trouble here anymore and disrupt others’ studies,” Lin Le said coolly.
“Yes, yes, we’ll be low-key from now on, and never dare stir up trouble again!” Pan Hao replied hastily.
The classmates of Senior Three, Class Eight, were secretly delighted. Pan Hao and his gang had always caused chaos in the classroom, and no one dared intervene; now, things had changed, and the class’s learning atmosphere improved. Even those jealous of Lin Le found themselves applauding him inwardly.
“There’s more. From today onward, Le is our boss. If Le says east, we won’t go west. We’ll follow all of Le’s orders!” Pan Hao bowed again, completely serious.
“All orders from Le!” The basketball team members echoed, their voices booming.
The scene was reminiscent of underworld followers swearing loyalty to a boss.
Lu Hongzhe, watching, was utterly stunned, his heart soaring with joy. Though they pledged allegiance to Lin Le, as his desk mate, he felt a surge of pride—a sense of being revered by the masses!
Pan Hao and his group were now fully submissive to Lin Le, as if obeying a law of the animal kingdom: the strong rule.
Lin Le had used his strength and methods to prove himself to Pan Hao’s group, earning their wholehearted submission.
“Follow my orders? Very well. My order is that from today, you all focus on learning scientific and cultural knowledge, embrace the Five Disciplines, Four Beauties, and Three Loves, contribute to the nation’s future, and become useful citizens for society, the people, and all humanity!” Lin Le launched into slogans.
Pan Hao: “…”
Everyone: “…”
Lu Hongzhe: “Whoa…”
“All right, you can return to your seats,” Lin Le said, sipping the coffee that Lu Hongzhe had prepared for him, his tone calm and authoritative.
“Yes, Le! We’ll remember!” With that, Pan Hao and his group bowed deeply once more and returned to their seats.
Lin Le couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off—it felt like these three bows were more suited to a funeral farewell than a pledge of allegiance…
