Chapter 101: Bald Bao
After hearing these words, everyone exchanged bewildered glances, frozen in place. They were uncertain whether they should join Lin Le in action or prioritize their own safety.
Seeing their hesitation, Guan Tianxiong's expression darkened. He snapped angrily, "You cowards! Are you really going to wait until Miao Shouren is knocking at your door before you finally do something?"
"Forget it, there's no need to worry about them," Lin Le replied blandly.
Seeking benefit and avoiding harm is a law of nature. Their fear of the Four Great Guardians and Miao Shouren was understandable, and Lin Le felt no particular displeasure at their reaction.
Once they witnessed his methods and understood the situation, they would naturally stand on his side; Lin Le cared nothing for their present indecision.
With that, Lin Le strode out of the conference room without looking back.
Yao Kun and his men followed close behind. Guan Tianxiong, after making a scornful gesture toward the others in the room, shook his head in resignation and went after them.
After Lin Le and his companions left, those remaining exchanged uneasy glances.
"So... what do we do now?" someone finally broke the silence.
"Why don’t we just follow and see what happens?" suggested One-Eyed Mao.
"Alright, let’s go."
With that, they climbed from their seats and followed.
Whether others joined or not was of no concern to Lin Le.
Surrounded by the forces of both South and North City, Lin Le descended the stairs, where luxury cars already waited at the entrance.
"Mr. Lin, please," Yao Kun said respectfully, opening the car door for Lin Le, who entered calmly.
Yao Kun's men and Guan Tianxiong's men also got into their vehicles, as did One-Eyed Mao and his group.
Dozens of black sedans lined up, forming a procession like a black dragon, heading toward the city center.
Other drivers, witnessing this spectacular scene, were awestruck and guessed that some big shot must be passing by. No one dared to be disrespectful; before the convoy even approached, they pulled aside to make way.
"Mr. Lin, where shall we go first?" Guan Tianxiong inquired tentatively.
Guan Tianxiong had his own agenda—since Lin Le was invited by him, he naturally hoped Lin Le would address South City's issues first.
"Just go to the nearest place," Lin Le said offhandedly, not even giving it much thought.
To him, the order made no difference.
Yao Kun’s face lit up with joy at Lin Le’s answer, as the nearest place happened to be under his control.
"Sorry, Brother Xiong," Yao Kun said to Guan Tianxiong, his eyes twinkling with triumph.
"Consider yourself lucky," Guan Tianxiong replied sourly.
The two had never gotten along, and now they seemed almost like a pair of quarrelsome friends.
The convoy proceeded unhindered and soon arrived at Le Yu KTV, the closest venue.
Inside, chaos reigned. Customers were fleeing in panic, terrified by the fighting within.
All security cameras—from the entrance to the interior—had been thoroughly destroyed. This was the hallmark of the Red Eagle Society; they never left any evidence behind.
Guan Tianxiong and Yao Kun took positions flanking Lin Le, shielding him in the center. The fleeing customers were pushed aside, and what was once a crowded entrance was now cleared into a passage.
Upon entering, Lin Le saw overturned tables and chairs everywhere, broken bottles littering the floor, alcohol pooling across the ground, the air thick with its pungent scent.
Among the wreckage, burly men dressed in black lay sprawled. Most were Yao Kun's men, responsible for security at Le Yu, but now all had been beaten down by Miao Shouren’s people, suffering severe injuries, wailing in agony, their blood marking the floor.
"Dammit..." Yao Kun cursed at the sight of his fallen subordinates.
At the center of the hall stood a group of men, their faces arrogant. Leading them was a powerfully built, bald brute.
His appearance alone marked him as formidable: muscles bulged like hills, veins snaked beneath his skin, and his whole being radiated the ferocity of a tiger.
This bald brute was one of Miao Shouren’s Four Great Guardians, known as Bald Bao.
At that moment, Bald Bao stood atop the bar, pointing triumphantly at the men on the floor, cursing, "Damn it, looks like there's no one in Haizhou who can fight! You're all a bunch of useless trash! You think you can rule Haizhou? What a joke!"
"Is that him?" Lin Le asked calmly.
"Yes, that's Bald Bao, one of the Four Great Guardians," Guan Tianxiong replied in a low voice.
Lin Le narrowed his eyes, instantly gauging Bald Bao’s strength—he was at the peak of intermediate internal force, just a step away from mastery. Among ordinary martial artists, he was indeed formidable. No wonder Guan Tianxiong admitted he couldn't match him.
But with such limited skill, to insult Haizhou as helpless was far too arrogant.
"Yao Kun, I don't want to strike from the shadows. Let him know we're here," Lin Le said, hands clasped behind his back.
"Understood!" Yao Kun replied, immediately drawing a throwing knife from behind.
With a sharp whistle, the knife flew straight at Bald Bao atop the bar.
Bald Bao reacted swiftly. One moment, he was basking in his own bravado; the next, he sensed the knife’s murderous intent and snatched it between two fingers.
Yao Kun had no intention of killing him, merely alerting him as Lin Le instructed.
"I’ve long heard of Boss Yao’s throwing skills—never misses. Looks like you weren’t aiming to kill me this time. That’s mighty honorable, huh?" Bald Bao sneered at Yao Kun.
"Honor, my ass! If I could stab you in the back, I’d do it a thousand times and never tire!" Yao Kun retorted furiously.
"Hahaha, well, I’m standing right here—come stab me if you dare!" Bald Bao opened his arms wide, taunting Yao Kun.
"You think I won’t?" Yao Kun started forward to take up the challenge.
But Lin Le stopped him.
"I’ll handle this," Lin Le said coolly.
He knew both Bald Bao’s and Yao Kun’s abilities. Yao Kun excelled at ranged attacks; in close combat, his martial arts were not even a match for Guan Tianxiong, let alone Bald Bao, who was nearing mastery of internal force. Getting hurt would be one thing, but losing face as North City’s boss was worse.
"Hey, where did this pretty boy come from?" Bald Bao looked at Lin Le, a scornful smile spreading across his face.
"So Haizhou’s really scraping the bottom of the barrel—sending the Boy Scouts out to fight. Next you’ll be sending a bunch of women after me, eh? Hahaha..." Bald Bao laughed maniacally.
His subordinates erupted into laughter as well.
Lin Le’s face remained calm and expressionless.
"Are you ready?" Lin Le asked quietly.
"Ready? Ready for what?" Bald Bao laughed again.
"I’m ready—what are you gonna do about it?" Bald Bao replied, eyebrows raised in challenge.
"If you’re ready, then you can die."
With those words, Lin Le unleashed a blast. A surge of white true energy shot from his hands, forming a fist of pure power that thundered toward Bald Bao atop the bar.
With a deafening crash, Bald Bao—boasting one moment—was sent flying the next. The true energy fist smashed into his chest, caving it in, and sent him crashing into the wall before collapsing to the floor, unconscious and utterly defeated.
