Although Lin Le now possesses assets worth over a hundred million, the thirty-million villa in Prosperity Court is no longer significant to him. Yet, it remains the place where he grew up, bearing countless memories for his family. The fact that it’s been seized by Zhao Mingyi’s family has always gnawed at his heart.

Thus, Lin Le had made up his mind: sooner or later, he would reclaim that house.

At this moment, Lin Le’s gaze toward Ji Guihua was icy cold, as if he were a beast ready to devour its prey alive. Ji Guihua had never encountered such a terrifying look; a chill ran down her spine, rendering her speechless with fright. Even Gao Youde, standing nearby, was shaken by Lin Le’s stare.

After Lin Le left, Ji Guihua and Gao Youde finally recovered from their shock.

“Anyone can talk big. I’d like to see what a penniless nobody like you can do to me!” Only when Lin Le had gone did Ji Guihua plant her hands on her hips and shout toward the doorway.

Though Ji Guihua knew Lin Le seemed to have some ties with the Tianxiong Gang, she didn’t take it seriously. Haizhou No. 1 High had always enjoyed excellent security, and as the school’s director of discipline, she was a public official. No matter how formidable the Tianxiong Gang was, they wouldn’t dare to openly mess with her.

Besides, what could Lin Le, a fallen young master, possibly offer to interest the Tianxiong Gang? It was probably nothing but empty boasting.

More importantly, a few years ago, Lin Le’s connections might have made Ji Guihua wary, for back then the Beicheng Black Star Society and the Tianxiong Gang from the south were indeed rampant, corrupting the city’s atmosphere. But since the arrival of a certain Chief Xue from out of town, Haizhou’s social climate had been thoroughly transformed within two years. The gangs no longer dared to be so brazen. Perhaps they still stirred trouble outside, yet whenever it involved public officials, they behaved themselves.

The underworld even gave Chief Xue the nickname “Living King of Hell.”

It was precisely because of this that Ji Guihua didn’t care about Lin Le’s ties to the Tianxiong Gang.

“Damn it, penniless as you are, you still dare to shout at me as if you’re still the eldest son of the Lin family? Bah!” Gao Youde cursed as well.

Gao Youde was livid. After so many years as principal of Haizhou No. 1 High, he’d never encountered such an arrogant student—someone who dared point at his nose and say he wasn’t fit to teach. It was as if Gao Youde, the dignified principal, meant nothing.

If it weren’t for his concern for appearances, he would have found someone to teach that pauper a lesson!

Lin Le had barely left the principal’s office when his phone rang—it was Gu Ya.

“Lin Le, what time does school end? I happen to be passing by your school. Shall we go back together?” Gu Ya had already made plans with Lin Le that morning to visit the villa at Longxi Mountain after school.

“There’s still half an hour before school ends, but I can come find you right now,” Lin Le replied, his voice tinged with displeasure.

“Oh? No need to skip class for me,” Gu Ya joked.

“Of course not. It’s just… I’ve been expelled,” Lin Le said with a bitter smile.

“Oh? What happened?”

Lin Le proceeded to recount the entire incident to Gu Ya.

“I see. In that case, head back to your classroom first,” Gu Ya seemed to have something else in mind.

“Oh? All right then,” Lin Le agreed, not giving it much thought—he still had things to pack up in the classroom.

When Lin Le returned, his angry expression immediately gave everyone a clue. It seemed the young master Lin had lost to the “Combat Ji” once again.

It was hardly surprising. The once-prominent Lin Le had fallen; at best, he could vent his frustrations with words, but when things truly happened, he could only stare helplessly.

Pan Hao and the others, seeing Lin Le’s dejected look, knew he hadn’t gained any advantage and couldn’t help but feel delighted.

“Le, how did it go? Did Combat Ji give you trouble?” Lu Hongzhe asked.

Lin Le hesitated over how to answer when, suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from outside. A chubby figure appeared at the classroom door, panic all over his face—it was Gao Youde!

Gao Youde was gasping for breath, clearly having run all the way over. Everyone was surprised by his appearance, even the teacher at the podium looked puzzled. “Principal Gao, you…”

“Lin Le!” Gao Youde ignored the teacher, beaming as he called into the classroom.

Lin Le glanced at Gao Youde with disdain, not bothering to respond. The students exchanged bewildered looks, unsure what was happening. Despite being put on the spot, Gao Youde dared not show any anger. On the contrary, his heart was now full of awe toward Lin Le.

Just after Lin Le had left, Gao Youde received a phone call from his direct superior—who had, in turn, received a call from the highest echelon of the capital’s education system. That was why he contacted Gao Youde at once.

To be frank, Gao Youde could never have dreamed of receiving such a call in his lifetime. Even his superior, or his superior’s superior, might not have qualified for it.

The instructions were clear: if Lin Le left Haizhou No. 1 High, Gao Youde would be finished as principal.

When Gao Youde hung up, his legs went weak with fright. The rank of the person mentioned was so high that even the head of the Haizhou Education Committee would tremble upon receiving such a call.

Gao Youde was terrified. He had assumed that without the Lin family, Lin Le was nothing. But to his shock, even in their downfall, the Lin family still wielded such immense power. Truly, a dying camel is still bigger than a horse.

“Lin… Lin Le, could you step outside for a moment? I have something I’d like to discuss with you.” Gao Youde had decided to humble himself completely, now appearing utterly obsequious.

The entire senior year class eight was dumbfounded.

Pan Hao and the others were stunned. What was going on? Why was Principal Gao so deferential to Lin Le? He was just a penniless nobody now!

Even if Lin Le had some connection to the Tianxiong Gang, Gao Youde was still the principal, and with Chief Xue so formidable, the Tianxiong Gang wouldn’t dare touch him.

But what was happening now? Was there some force beyond the Tianxiong Gang in Haizhou that could inspire such awe in Gao Youde?

“I have nothing to discuss with you,” Lin Le replied coldly.

He had guessed that Gao Youde’s sudden change of heart was likely due to Gu Ya.

Behind Gu Ya was the illustrious Gu family of Haizhou, influential in both government and military, renowned throughout the province. The Gu family’s connections were vast, and Gu Ya’s father held a prominent position in the capital. If they wanted a mere high school principal to comply, it would be effortless.

Realizing this, Lin Le was resolute. After Gao Youde’s earlier insults to his father and family, Lin Le had no reason to show him any mercy.

At that moment, everyone in class eight was utterly stunned by Lin Le’s audacious attitude.

“Lin… Young Master Lin, please calm down. It was all a misunderstanding, now resolved,” Gao Youde maintained his ingratiating smile, showing no anger at Lin Le’s arrogance.

This scene was beyond anyone’s wildest imagination.

“A misunderstanding? What about Zhao Hu?” Lin Le asked coldly.

“Expelled! A student like him doesn’t deserve to stay at Haizhou No. 1 High!” Gao Youde adopted a stance of righteous indignation.

“And Director Ji?”

“Director Ji condoned her son Zhao Hu’s misbehavior, abused her position, and is unfit to remain as director. She’ll be dismissed immediately! Is this resolution satisfactory, Young Master Lin?”

“It will do,” Lin Le replied calmly.

“Then… you won’t be leaving Haizhou No. 1 High, will you?” Gao Youde asked cautiously.

“Of course not. Haizhou No. 1 High is such a wonderful school; how could I bear to leave? I must stay and diligently study scientific and cultural knowledge, cultivate myself as a model youth, and contribute to the Four Modernizations!” Lin Le said with a beaming smile.

Gao Youde: “…”

Everyone: “…”
