Chapter 003: The Way of Qihuang Guidance
Lin Le was rather disappointed. “You’ll regret this,” he said.
With those words, Lin Le, his father, and Chen Qiang turned and left the hall without looking back.
As they squeezed through the crowd, the onlookers continued to whisper and point at Lin Le.
“Always showing off—now look, he’s only humiliated himself!”
“With his meager abilities, he still dreams of courting a wealthy heiress? He’s overestimating himself!”
“A penniless boy—like a toad lusting after a swan!”
Lin Le paid no mind to these idle remarks.
“They really don’t know what’s good for them. Le was just trying to help, and they didn’t appreciate it!” Chen Qiang grumbled once they were outside.
“Forget it, there’s nothing to be angry about,” Lin Le replied, turning to comfort Chen Qiang instead.
Lin Tenghui smiled. “Exactly, let’s not dwell on it. Le is finally home today—let’s celebrate! I’ll cook some good dishes, and we’ll have a few drinks together!”
“Absolutely!” Chen Qiang said enthusiastically, starting the car.
“Wait a moment,” Lin Le suddenly said.
“What’s wrong, Le?” Chen Qiang paused, puzzled.
“It’s nothing. Just wait,” Lin Le answered calmly.
Chen Qiang was confused, and Lin Tenghui was equally baffled.
At that moment, a figure suddenly ran up to the car, desperately knocking on the window.
It was the stunning beauty, Gu Ya!
Only then did Chen Qiang and Lin Tenghui understand—had Lin Le foreseen her coming?
“Is something the matter?” Lin Le asked.
“I beg you, please save my grandfather!” Gu Ya sobbed, her tears streaming down.
After Lin Le had left, Director Jia had given the old Mr. Gu a sedative. But soon after the injection, the old man began to shake violently, blood gushing from his mouth and nose!
Director Jia was struck dumb with terror, and Gu Ya realized her mistake, rushing after Lin Le for help.
“Le was trying to help you before, but you treated him like a villain. Now that something’s gone wrong, you come begging for his help!” Chen Qiang complained.
“Le, don’t get involved now—it’s too risky!” he warned.
Mr. Gu was in a dire state; if anything happened, Lin Le would be the one blamed for it.
“If something goes wrong, I won't hold you responsible. I can pay you—name your price, as long as you can save my grandfather!” Gu Ya pleaded anxiously.
Lin Le glanced at her and replied coolly, “A hundred million. Go prepare it.”
With that, he vanished in a flash, heading straight for the hospital hall, leaving Gu Ya stunned.
As soon as he entered, the thick scent of blood hit him. The floor was awash in crimson—blood everywhere!
The crowd, seeing Lin Le return, began to shift in their opinions—some started to believe in him, though most remained dismissive.
Even Director Jia, with all his medical skills, had failed to save Mr. Gu. How could this mere youth do any better? Calling him in now would only waste precious time!
At that moment, blood was still pouring from Mr. Gu’s mouth and nose. Nearby, Director Jia sat on the floor, pale with terror, muttering over and over, “I was wrong, so very wrong…”
Lin Le had someone help Mr. Gu sit up, then moved behind him, his hands moving rapidly across the old man’s back like two dancing dragons.
As Lin Le’s hands glided, a remarkable scene unfolded. The skin on Mr. Gu’s back seemed to come alive, forming swirling patterns that spun with Lin Le’s movements. The entire body began to emit white steam, like a boiling cauldron!
This was Lin Le using his own inner strength to guide and pacify the chaotic energy within Mr. Gu.
Gu Ya, who had followed them in, was stunned by the sight. The technique resembled Tai Chi, but was far more profound than anything she had ever seen.
Only now did she realize how wrong she’d been—this unremarkable-looking youth truly possessed martial skills!
Director Jia, slumped on the ground, widened his eyes in shock. “Qihuang Energy Guidance Technique?”
In Hua Tuo’s “Inner Canon of the Hidden Chamber,” it is written: “Energy guidance can expel evil from the joints. To fail to guide is to invite evil to invade the joints, causing stubborn blockages.” Since the Qin and Han dynasties, energy guidance had existed, able to treat weakness, chills, fevers, and accumulations. But over time, the true techniques were lost, leaving only shallow Qigong practices.
Director Jia recalled his own mentor saying that the most advanced of these techniques was the Qihuang Energy Guidance, supposedly recorded in the “Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon.” Yet the current version of that text is incomplete; most advanced methods survive only in fragments.
His mentor had spent a lifetime yearning to see the true Qihuang Energy Guidance, but died unfulfilled—who would have thought he would witness it today, and from a mere youth!
Only now did Jia Shimao realize how blind he had been, failing to recognize a true dragon in their midst.
With Lin Le’s guidance, the chaotic energies in Mr. Gu’s body were finally subdued and harmonized.
Mr. Gu’s violent tremors ceased, and the bleeding from his mouth and nose stopped.
Lin Le stepped back and exhaled—a breath that shot forward like a spear, distorting the air itself.
Externalized energy? Gu Ya was shocked.
Though she had little martial training, she’d learned enough from her grandfather to recognize this level. To project internal energy externally meant the practitioner had achieved at least Mastery of Internal Power, if not higher!
Her grandfather had explained that the martial path in China was divided into three realms: External Power, Internal Power, and Transformation. Each realm had the stages of Introduction, Accomplishment, and Mastery.
Yet this young man, at such a tender age, had already reached the peak of Mastery in Internal Power, just a step away from the realm of Transformation.
It was simply unbelievable!
Gu Ya was not the only one astonished—the onlookers, too, were stunned. They’d doubted Lin Le, thinking him a charlatan, but he had just saved Mr. Gu!
Even Hai Prefecture’s famed physician Jia Shimao had failed, but this youth succeeded. Was his medical skill not superior to Jia’s?
It was unimaginable!
“Your grandfather is out of danger now, but he’s lost a lot of blood. He’ll need bed rest to fully recover,” Lin Le said.
“Thank you!” Gu Ya exclaimed, overwhelmed with emotion.
“In addition, given his current condition, it would be best for him to give up martial practice. Otherwise, his life may be at risk,” Lin Le instructed.
“Give up martial arts? I understand—I’ll make sure to persuade him!”
Lin Le nodded and turned to leave, but Jia Shimao suddenly stood up and called, “Wait!”
Everyone thought Jia was about to confront Lin Le, but instead, he approached and bowed respectfully.
“I’m sorry—I was wrong! Thank you, young man, for your intervention, or I would have caused a terrible disaster!”
“No need for such formality, Director Jia. Just be more careful in the future,” Lin Le replied. He knew of Jia Shimao’s reputation—years ago, the name was already widely known. Lin Le also understood that, as a doctor, Jia was not a bad person at heart, merely blinded by pride after years of being placed on a pedestal.
The crowd was dumbfounded.
The great medical authority of Hai Prefecture, bowing to a youth and being admonished as though he were a junior—it was beyond belief.
As Lin Le was about to leave, Jia Shimao hurriedly asked, “May I ask, how did you acquire the Qihuang Energy Guidance Technique?”
Lin Le paused. “So that’s what it’s called…”
With that, he clasped his hands behind his back and departed the hall.
Only after he left did the quiet hall erupt into a frenzy.
Given the gossiping nature of the crowd, it was certain that within two days, news of the mysterious youth whose medical skills surpassed Director Jia’s would spread throughout Hai Prefecture.
Yet, it seemed none of them even knew the boy’s name.
Suddenly, Gu Ya thought of something and hurried out of the hall.
“Wait!” she called after the car in the distance.
The car stopped. Lin Le asked indifferently, “Is there anything else, Miss?”
“The money…the Gu family will pay you,” Gu Ya replied coldly.
A hundred million was a hefty sum, but compared to her grandfather’s life, it was nothing at all. Besides, the Gu family could easily afford it—a bargain for this fellow!
But to her surprise, Lin Le merely smiled and drove off.
“Hey! You haven’t even given me your account number! Wait!”
But Lin Le’s car was already out of sight.
Gu Ya was left bewildered.
What did that smile mean? Did he not want the hundred million? Or was it too little?
More than that, Gu Ya was consumed by curiosity—just who was this mysterious, extraordinary youth, who came and went like the wind?
