Chapter 041: A Grand Misunderstanding
Seeing that Lin Yue had already succeeded in extracting the venomous insects from her parents' bodies, Tang Nianchen hurried over to knock on the door.
“Mr. Lin?” Liang Qiuyang sought Lin Yue’s opinion.
“Open the door. They’re out of danger now.”
“Dad, Mom!” As soon as Tang Nianchen entered, she rushed to the bedsides of Tang Baisheng and Mrs. Tang, calling out anxiously.
However, both Tang Baisheng and his wife remained unconscious, showing no sign of response.
“What… What’s going on?” Tang Nianchen turned to Lin Yue in confusion.
“I’ve said all along, these two are nothing but charlatans! They’re just putting on a show!” Qu Junchu instantly seized the opportunity to add insult to injury when he saw that Tang Baisheng and his wife had not woken up.
“To demand two hundred million just like that—do they really think the Tang and Qu families are so easy to take advantage of?” Qu Junchu continued to bluster.
“Shut up!” Lin Yue snapped impatiently. “You’re so annoying!”
“You—!” Qu Junchu was left speechless yet again.
“What, you? Come here. Help me lift Mr. Tang from the bed—I need to give him the final treatment.” Lin Yue commanded, not waiting for Qu Junchu to retort.
“Me?” Qu Junchu hesitated.
“Aren’t you always looking to curry favor with Miss Tang? What, you can’t even spare a bit of strength for this? Or do you find Mr. Tang, as a patient, beneath you?” Lin Yue said bluntly, without the slightest pretense.
“I…” Qu Junchu was so infuriated he could barely speak.
He would much rather not exhaust himself by lifting a patient whose body had just harbored poisonous insects, but Lin Yue’s words left him no room to refuse. If he really did, his standing in Tang Nianchen’s eyes would plummet instantly.
So, even knowing full well this was a trap set for him, Qu Junchu had no choice but to comply.
Cursing inwardly, he thought, Damn you, brat. Not only have you embarrassed me today in front of Tang Nianchen, but you dare to set me up as well. When this is over, if I don’t make you pay, my name isn’t Qu Junchu!
With these thoughts, Qu Junchu reluctantly stepped forward and, as though embracing a lover, lifted the slightly plump Tang Baisheng from the bed.
“What… What do I do now?” Tang Baisheng’s weight was nearly suffocating Qu Junchu, yet Lin Yue made no move.
“Mr. Tang has been lying down too long. He needs to stand for a while to stabilize his vital energy and blood.” Lin Yue sipped his tea, answering with irritation.
Stabilize, my foot! I just want you to hold onto this Tang fellow a while longer. Let you tire yourself out, you bastard!
After ten minutes, Lin Yue finally set down his teacup and rose from his chair.
“All right, I’m going to begin. Hold him steady.”
With that, Lin Yue moved behind Tang Baisheng.
He gathered his inner energy into his hands, which then began to glide across Tang Baisheng’s back like two swimming dragons.
The scene that unfolded was almost identical to when Lin Yue had healed Gu Huaishan.
The skin on Tang Baisheng’s back seemed to come alive; under Lin Yue’s hands, it spun into swirling vortices.
Tang Baisheng’s entire body began to emit white steam, like a boiler letting off pressure!
Everyone present was stunned by this astonishing sight.
Tang Nianchen widened her eyes in disbelief at the young man before her.
Up until now, she had always harbored doubts about his abilities, but as this miraculous scene unfolded, she couldn’t help but admit that, for all his irritating ways, this young man truly possessed remarkable skills.
“This… this is the Qihuang Energy-Guiding Technique!” Jia Shimao exclaimed in awe.
“That’s right. The Qihuang Energy-Guiding Technique, long lost from the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon!” Some of the other eminent doctors and experts also recognized Lin Yue’s methods.
For these revered medical experts, witnessing the lost Qihuang Energy-Guiding Technique from the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon was nothing short of a miracle. Excitement coursed through them, their blood surging.
At this moment, Jia Shimao, the only one present to have seen Lin Yue use this technique before, finally confirmed the suspicions he’d long harbored.
“You… you’re…” Jia Shimao pointed at Lin Yue, his voice trembling with excitement.
Lin Yue realized his identity had been uncovered by Jia Shimao, but he had no intention of letting Tang Nianchen know it was he who had saved her family.
Before Jia Shimao could say his name, Lin Yue shot him a warning look and shook his head slightly.
Lin Yue’s subtle gesture went unnoticed by the others, but Jia Shimao understood at once—Lin Yue did not wish for his identity to be revealed.
So, tactfully, Jia Shimao chose to remain silent, though the look he now cast at Lin Yue was filled with awe.
First the incident of energy deviation, now the venomous curse—this youth was truly a miraculous physician, a prodigy rarely seen!
“Hey, I say—are you done yet?” Qu Junchu was bent nearly double under Tang Baisheng’s weight.
“Done!”
With a soft grunt, Lin Yue struck Tang Baisheng’s back with his palm.
Immediately, with a loud “Pfft!”, Tang Baisheng vomited a large mouthful of foul, inky blood—straight onto Qu Junchu’s face…
His custom-tailored suit, worth tens of thousands, was ruined in an instant.
“Ugh…” The pampered and fastidious Qu Junchu, unused to any sort of hardship, nearly retched on the spot.
Those around them, witnessing such a ghastly scene, were nearly sick themselves.
Unable to bear it any longer, Qu Junchu dropped Tang Baisheng back onto the bed.
“You bastard! How dare you do this to me!” he shouted at Lin Yue, his face covered in vile blood.
Of course Lin Yue had done it on purpose. He had timed it perfectly, waiting until Tang Baisheng’s and Qu Junchu’s faces were close to release the poisonous blood. How else could it have landed so precisely?
Lin Yue still remembered clearly how, after the collapse of the Lin family, Qu Junchu had publicly humiliated him, even posting videos of debt collectors beating him on social media to gloat.
Compared to those humiliations, this small act of revenge was nothing.
“Young master, I think there’s been a misunderstanding…” Lin Yue replied offhandedly.
“Misunderstand your damned self!” Qu Junchu, no longer bothering with decorum, swung his fist at Lin Yue’s face.
To let himself be shamed so thoroughly in front of Tang Nianchen—he’d have his revenge, no matter what!
Everyone expected Lin Yue to be in trouble this time, but, unexpectedly, before Qu Junchu’s punch could land, Lin Yue casually sidestepped, sending Qu Junchu sprawling face-first to the floor.
“It’s you who misunderstood your damned self,” Lin Yue echoed Qu Junchu’s words with a calm voice.
“You bastard…” Qu Junchu was nearly exploding with rage, scrambling up from the floor, ready to go at Lin Yue again.
Just then, a coughing sound suddenly came from the sickbed—it was Tang Baisheng.
“Dad!” Tang Nianchen rushed to his bedside in excitement.
She saw that Tang Baisheng had opened his eyes, his mind clear once more.
“Nianchen…” Tang Baisheng’s voice was weak but steady.
A wave of emotion swept through the crowd.
A miracle—this was nothing short of a miracle!
Barely an hour ago, Tang Baisheng had been at death’s door, given up on by the best doctors in Haizhou and the capital. Now, he had regained his health!
It was simply unbelievable.
All eyes turned to Lin Yue, filled with awe and reverence.
Liang Qiuyang was also shocked, once again amazed by Lin Yue’s abilities.
Even Qu Junchu, who had just been about to start trouble, was left gaping in disbelief, unable to cause any more disturbances for the moment.
While everyone was caught up in excitement, Lin Yue remained utterly composed. Without so much as a glance at Tang Baisheng, he went straight to Mrs. Tang’s bedside.
Liang Qiuyang hurried over to assist, and Jia Shimao, with good sense, joined him in helping to support Mrs. Tang.
Lin Yue used the same method to treat Mrs. Tang.
Moments later, Mrs. Tang also vomited a mouthful of poisonous blood, and soon regained consciousness.
After completing all this, Lin Yue remained calm and indifferent, even as everyone stared at him in amazement.
“Master, there’s nothing more for us to do here. We can leave,” Lin Yue said quietly to Liang Qiuyang.
