Chapter 10: Kuafu Pursues the Sun

Blazing Expert Eyes lowered in contemplation 3013 words 2026-02-09 17:08:00

The crowd could no longer contain their laughter, erupting into a chorus of amusement. Young Master Lin was truly ingenious—hadn’t he just likened Zhao Hu to a pile of excrement?

“Brother Hu, this guy’s insulting you!” Pan Hao exclaimed.

It took Zhao Hu a moment to realize what had happened, and his face darkened in fury. “You little bastard, trying to get yourself killed?”

With that, Zhao Hu lifted his fist and lunged at Lin Le.

Zhao Hu was far fitter than Pan Hao. Moreover, he often got into fights outside, showing off his strength and courage. Though he had never received formal martial arts training, his street-fighting skills surpassed even those of novice martial artists.

As Zhao Hu’s fist hurtled toward him, Lin Le’s first thought was for the girl in his arms, Xu Xier.

Lin Le picked up Xu Xier and dodged several meters back in a swift flash, easily avoiding Zhao Hu’s attack.

“Xier, wait here for me. Don’t wander off, alright?” Lin Le said with a smile, reminding her gently.

Zhao Hu’s punch missed its mark, and he froze in surprise.

“I heard your loser dad sent you to the army as a grunt. Looks like you’ve toughened up these last three years,” Zhao Hu sneered.

“Oh, and there’s something you probably don’t know yet. Your dad had to pay off his debts, so he gave up that villa in Glory Court to my old man. I hear you’re all living in the slums by the South Fourth Ring now. How does it feel, eh? Hahaha...” Zhao Hu continued, mocking relentlessly.

His cronies laughed along.

Lin Le suddenly seemed to recall something. “Ah, now I remember—your dad is Wang Mingyi, isn’t he?”

“My surname is Zhao!” Zhao Hu corrected angrily.

“But isn’t your dad’s surname Wang?” Lin Le asked with innocent confusion.

“You...” Zhao Hu finally realized Lin Le was mocking him, calling his father “the guy next door,” a notorious figure in local jokes.

The crowd picked up on it as well, bursting into laughter. Zhao Hu was so angry he nearly exploded.

“If I don’t break your legs today, then my name isn’t Wang!—No, Zhao!” Zhao Hu spat, stumbling over his words in his rage.

Lin Le could only smile wryly.

Zhao Hu, now beside himself with fury, shouted, “All of you, get him!”

He had heard from Pan Hao that Lin Le was skilled, so he was going all out from the start.

A dark mass of bodies surged forward like a tide toward Lin Le.

The onlookers quickly moved away, thinking Zhao Hu was ruthless—so many people against one, there was bound to be serious trouble.

Their gazes toward Lin Le carried a trace of pity, as though he was already as good as dead.

“Brother Lin Le...” Xu Xier, standing nearby, looked tense and worried for him.

As dozens of enemies rushed in, Lin Le’s smile faded.

Zhao Hu, Zhao Mingyi—father and son, petty villains flush with their own success, you’ve bullied the Lin family time and again, really thinking we’re easy prey!

Today, I, Lin Le, will make you pay!

Then Lin Le swept his right leg across the ground in a semicircle, his body crouched low, channeling all his strength into his right foot, practically squatting to the ground.

In the surrounding crowd, a short-haired girl with wine-red dyed hair pushed her way forward.

She was strikingly cute, with a delicate face and large, bright eyes, the very picture of a mischievous little doll. But she was feisty, shoving aside anyone who blocked her view.

Seeing the scene before her, her face flashed with surprise.

“Kua Fu Chasing the Sun!” she exclaimed.

“Sister Xiao Rui, what’s ‘Kua Fu Chasing the Sun’? It sounds kind of... unhealthy,” a pretty girl with big eyes beside her said with confusion.

“Lu Lu, I think it’s your mind that’s unhealthy! What are you thinking at your age?” Ji Xiao Rui sighed, watching Lin Le intently.

Indeed, it was the move her master had spoken of—Kua Fu Chasing the Sun.

Her master had explained that this ancient martial skill was used by assassins, excelling in sudden attacks.

Depending on skill level, it allowed for killing in five steps, ten steps, or a hundred steps.

It was unleashed by channeling true energy from within, a deadly technique.

But to truly execute the ‘hundred-step kill’ required true energy to be projected outward, mastery of internal strength.

Her master, aged eighty, had only ever managed the ten-step kill at his peak. As for Ji Xiao Rui herself, she couldn’t even achieve the five-step kill.

She was curious to see how far this unremarkable-looking young man could go—was he the real deal, or just a show-off?

Just as she was pondering this, a thunderous boom erupted, like a firecracker going off.

Lin Le’s right foot unleashed a surge of energy, and he shot forward like an arrow from a bow—one step!

Whoosh! The wind whipped around his body, his speed so fierce it tore at the air, and in an instant he plunged into the crowd.

His form, wrapped in a gust, was like a locomotive, opening a path through the throng.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Wherever he passed, the attacking students were sent flying.

Ji Xiao Rui saw clearly—they didn’t even touch Lin Le’s body; it was the true energy emanating from him that knocked them aside!

That single step carried him at least twenty meters!

“Holy...” Ji Xiao Rui was utterly stunned.

Oh my Buddha, Jehovah, God, Allah, Doraemon—what in the world!

Ji Xiao Rui felt as if she’d seen a ghost.

This young man was even stronger than her master!

Her master was a martial arts expert, hired by her father at a cost of millions a year. Yet this boy, so young, was even more formidable? It was unbelievable!

Not only Ji Xiao Rui, but the entire crowd was dumbfounded.

It had all happened so fast—they hadn’t seen what transpired, but over a dozen people were already sprawled on the ground.

Looking again, Lin Le had somehow reached Zhao Hu, twenty meters away!

“What?” Zhao Hu gasped in shock, roaring as he threw a heavy punch at Lin Le.

But before his fist could land, he felt a sudden, intense pain in his chest, as if a massive force had compressed his ribcage, cutting off his breath.

Bang!

Zhao Hu crashed heavily onto a parked car, tilting it with the impact.

Moments before, he had been full of swagger—now he lay face-down, unable to rise.

Defeated in a single move.

The crowd was stunned.

Pan Hao and the others tried to rush forward, but Lin Le stepped firmly onto Zhao Hu’s chest, surveying the area.

Capture the leader first!

Pan Hao and his gang froze, not daring to advance.

Lin Le looked down at Zhao Hu, sneering, “Remember, your elder will always be your elder! Even if Lin Le falls from the heavens to the mud, scum like you could never bully me! Isn’t that right, little dog...?”

Zhao Hu was nearly unconscious, lacking the strength to respond.

“And don’t say I didn’t warn you—if you come near Xier again, it won’t be as simple as this!”

With that, Lin Le took Xu Xier and strolled out of the crowd.

Pan Hao and his group, dozens of boys, dared not block his path, only watching as Lin Le departed.

After Lin Le left, the crowd erupted.

Had they seen correctly? That boy just took on dozens single-handedly? Even Zhao Hu, a notorious tough guy, was knocked out with a single punch? Unbelievable!

Everyone pulled out their phones, sharing the news online. In no time, Young Master Lin’s return and his defeat of Zhao Hu spread throughout Haizhou High.

Pictures and videos taken on the spot circulated widely.

Lin Le, however, paid no attention to any of this. After leaving with Xu Xier, he headed toward a nearby restaurant.

He hadn’t gone far when a red Maserati suddenly swerved in front of them, screeching to a halt.

From the SUV forced to stop behind, a burly man stuck his head out and shouted, “Are you crazy? How dare you cut me off!”

Ji Xiao Rui leapt out of the Maserati, grabbed a brick from the ground, and without a word smashed it against the SUV.

Crash! The entire window shattered.

“Say one more word and I’ll castrate you and sell you off to Africa, you hear me?” Ji Xiao Rui yelled at the burly man.

Seeing her fierce demeanor and glancing at her million-dollar luxury car, the man quickly shut up and sped away, fleeing the scene.
