Chapter 155: Since When Did This Scoundrel Become So Obedient!

Along the way, Xu An’an struggled several times, wanting to turn back and ask for clarification, but Jiang Lie stopped her each time. In the end, Jiang Lie simply hoisted her up and carried her away.
Surrounded by many onlookers, Xu An’an blushed deeply.
Fortunately, Jiang Lie had long legs and walked quickly, swiftly leading Xu An’an out of the hospital.
Once on solid ground, Xu An’an immediately scolded Jiang Lie, pounding her fists repeatedly against him, but Jiang Lie felt no pain and allowed her to vent.
He knew that Xu An’an’s anger was really directed more at Teacher Gao’s children.
When Xu An’an tired of hitting him, Jiang Lie took her hand and gently rubbed it. “What good does being angry do? You saw for yourself—Teacher Gao doesn’t want to argue because those are her children.”
“As a parent, she has always sacrificed for her children.”
“But that’s no excuse for them to hurt Teacher Gao!” Xu An’an pulled her hand away. “If they were willing to pay for her treatment, her illness wouldn’t have worsened like this. How is that any different from plotting to kill her for money? She’s the mother who carried them for ten months!”
Seeing Xu An’an so upset, Jiang Lie reached out to pat her back and listened quietly.
After she had vented all her negative emotions, Jiang Lie finally spoke: “As long as Teacher Gao doesn’t mind, what can we outsiders do?”
Indeed, that was the harsh reality.
Xu An’an felt powerless. Without a word, she got into the car.
Jiang Lie sighed softly and then got in as well.
“The reunion isn’t over yet. Do you want to go over and take a look?”
“Did you come to the school to look for me first?” Xu An’an asked, suspecting that the old classmate who said someone was looking for her meant Jiang Lie.
Jiang Lie nodded. He had indeed been to the school but didn’t find Jiang Li, so he had Assistant Wang track Jiang Li’s phone.
Of course, he couldn’t say any of this.
“Shall we go?”
“Let’s go then.” Xu An’an felt restless and didn’t want to think too much. She was fine with Jiang Lie taking her wherever.
Otherwise, if she went home now, she definitely wouldn’t be able to sleep.
When they arrived at the school, it was still bustling.
Suddenly, Xu An’an remembered the car Murong Yan had driven and felt a surge of irritation. “I have to say, the Second Young Master really knows how to splurge—a hundred-million-yuan car, just given away like that.”
“What car?” Jiang Lie asked as he parked, looking at Xu An’an.
“The flashy, showy sports car in your garage.” Xu An’an paused, worried he might think she was jealous, so she added, “I have to admit, it really suits Murong Yan.”
Hearing this, Jiang Lie naturally understood the situation. He chuckled lightly and reached out to stroke Xu An’an’s cheek.
“How are you so adorable?”
“What!”

Xu An’an angrily slapped Jiang Lie’s hand away. “Are you sick? You’re the adorable one—your whole family is adorable.”
Jiang Lie wasn’t offended. “Thanks for the compliment.”
Unable to argue with him, Xu An’an stormed out of the car. “Don’t follow me. I don’t want to see you right now!”
She even started running toward the crowded, lively area.
After a while, Xu An’an looked back—
Jiang Lie was nowhere to be seen behind her.
Xu An’an was speechless. When did this stubborn man become so obedient?
Just as she hesitated about whether to go back and find Jiang Lie—after all, the school was quite large, and there were many people tonight—maybe he simply couldn’t keep up with her fast pace.
What if she got lost?
“An’an, you finally came! Someone has been waiting for you a long time!” An old classmate, Yin Hong, suddenly appeared and forcibly pulled Xu An’an along.
Many old classmates were sitting together.
Notably, Murong Yan was there too.
Murong Yan smiled sweetly and warmly: “An’an, where have you been? Everyone’s been waiting for you.”
If you didn’t know better, you might think Murong Yan was one of their classmates.
Xu An’an stood still, unwilling to come over. It was Yin Hong who had dragged her, and that annoyed her greatly.
“Waiting for me? I don’t think I have much of a relationship with any of you.”
If it weren’t for the fact that Yin Hong had been friendly to her during their student days, Xu An’an would have slapped her as soon as she reached out.
Jiang Li’s disregard made everyone else’s expressions sour.
Only Murong Yan kept smiling serenely.
“An’an, are you leaving already? That’s convenient—I was about to go too.”
“Leaving so soon? The bonfire party hasn’t even started.”
The speaker glanced repeatedly at Xu An’an, and Xu An’an recognized him. He was her deskmate back in the second year of high school and also her rumored crush.
Xie Che nodded at Xu An’an. “An’an, long time no see.”
Yin Hong winked and said, “An’an, aren’t you still single? Xie Che’s single too. What does that mean? It means your fate isn’t over yet!”
Xu An’an’s eyes turned cold as she stared at Yin Hong.
“You’re still single, right?”
“Yeah, still single.”

“Then why aren’t you with Xie Che? Don’t you look down on him?”
After Xu An’an’s remark, Yin Hong choked up. “Uh, how could I look down on Xie Che? It’s just that Xie Che likes you. How could I compete with you?”
Xu An’an glanced at Xie Che and noticed his gaze fixed on Murong Yan, which made her laugh.
“Xie Che, are you deaf? Yin Hong said you like me.”
Afraid Murong Yan would misunderstand, Xie Che quickly waved his hand. “No, no, An’an, I’ve always treated you as a friend. I have absolutely no other thoughts.”
Xu An’an turned to Yin Hong, her sharp gaze making Yin Hong tremble involuntarily.
Smack!
A loud slap echoed.
Everyone present was shocked.
Yin Hong, who had been slapped, was dumbfounded. “You—you hit me?”
“I hit you, so what? Who told you to spout nonsense here? Consider this a warning—if you say another word, it won’t be just one slap.” Xu An’an had no intention of staying any longer. She turned and strode away.
Murong Yan looked worried and hurried after her. “An’an, wait!”
Xu An’an really wanted to sprint a hundred meters, to sprout wings and fly, but there were too many people around. She couldn’t break free and was soon caught up by Murong Yan.
“What exactly do you want? We’re not close at all.”
“No, I’m just worried about you.”
“Hah, don’t pretend, ‘little sister.’” Xu An’an refused to put on a false front with Murong Yan. “You know my relationship with Jiang Lie is good. You want to mess with me.”
Murong Yan looked a little confused. “You have a good relationship with Ah Lie? I really didn’t know. I thought you only knew each other because of Jiang Yu.”
Xu An’an couldn’t tell if Murong Yan was pretending or genuinely unaware.
If she was pretending, then her acting skills were truly remarkable—no wonder she’d won the Grand Slam of the Triple Crown Best Actress awards.
“If you’re curious about my relationship with Jiang Lie, you can just ask him directly. Whether he answers or not is none of my business.”
Even so, Murong Yan continued to follow closely behind Xu An’an, making her increasingly annoyed.
That was, until Jiang Lie appeared.
