After being slapped on her ample backside, Zhou Juan shot a glare at the bald-headed man and said in a coquettish tone, "You're so bad, always taking advantage of me. Watch out or I'll make you regret it." Then she threw him a sultry look and deliberately swayed her hips, clearly adept at using her assets to entice men.

Witnessing his former wife flaunting her charms before another man, Zhang Ding felt deeply uncomfortable. Though she was now his ex-wife, they had once shared the same bed, after all.

Every man possesses a strong sense of possessiveness; even if he's discarded something, he doesn't want others to use it, especially when it comes to women.

Zhou Juan and the bald boss were evidently unaware that Zhang Ding was among those causing trouble here.

With the arrival of the boss and his wife, the curious employees dispersed and hurried back to work. There was no choice; this shameless boss was too cruel, constantly finding excuses to dock their pay and frequently harassing the attractive female employees. Those who refused him would find themselves being bullied in subtle ways.

Over the years, this old scoundrel had ruined the lives of many young women.

"Are you all so idle and bored? Do you even want to keep your jobs?" The bald boss, his belly protruding, shouted loudly with a swaggering attitude. He was arrogant because he was a distant relative of the big boss.

This was a classic case of someone bullying others on the strength of connections.

Before the bald boss could pay attention to Ling Tian and the others, the female sales clerk who had been assaulted ran up crying, pouting and whining, "Boss, I've been bullied! You have to stand up for me!" Her voice was syrupy and unsettling, but to the bald boss, it was music to his ears, almost melting his bones.

Clearly, this old fellow had a particular fondness for this sort of thing.

"Who the hell had the guts to lay hands on my woman—no, my employee?" The bald boss nearly let slip his true intentions, quickly correcting himself, fearing the she-devil beside him would lose her temper.

Zhou Juan already knew the bald boss was entangled with his female employees, his relationships with them ambiguous and improper. She immediately said, "What did you just say, you rascal?"

"I didn’t say anything," the bald boss replied hastily.

"Get out of my way, you’re an eyesore," Zhou Juan snapped at the female clerk.

The female clerk glared disdainfully at Zhou Juan, defiantly thrusting out her chest and scoffing, "What’s so great about you? I’m younger and prettier than you. What right do you have to yell at me?"

Zhou Juan was instantly enraged—a mere clerk daring to challenge her. "Someone, take her away. She’s no longer part of the company," Zhou Juan ordered furiously.

The clerk showed no fear; instead, she coquettishly appealed to the bald boss, "Boss, are you just going to watch me being bullied?"

"You really have some nerve," Zhou Juan fumed, then turned to the bald boss. "Well? Between the two of us, who do you want?"

Her words were a clear threat; men, especially those with status, hate being blackmailed.

Even more so when it comes from a woman who climbed up as a mistress. The bald boss's expression instantly darkened. "Shut up, both of you. If you keep squabbling, you can both get out," he said in a deep voice.

When a man asserted himself, both women fell silent, obediently closing their mouths.

"We’re here to solve problems, not watch your catfight. Women are such a damn nuisance," the bald boss glared fiercely at Zhou Juan. If not for her wild performance in bed, he wouldn't have married her. Lately, though, Zhou Juan had become increasingly arrogant, much to his displeasure.

After venting his anger, the bald boss turned his attention to Ling Tian and his companions. He didn’t recognize Ling Tian or Zhang Ding—his mind had only been on seducing Zhou Juan back then, and he'd never met Zhang Ding. Finally, his gaze settled on Zhang Ting.

In terms of looks and figure, Zhang Ting outshone both the clerk and Zhou Juan by a wide margin, and she was much younger.

"Ting Ting, what a coincidence. How have you been lately?" The bald boss approached with a fake smile, feigning concern.

Zhang Ting had left the company because she refused to become the boss’s mistress. Seeing his revolting face again today, she nearly retched—this old man was utterly disgusting.

Zhang Ding quickly stepped in front of Zhang Ting, shielding her and staring coldly at the bald boss. Zhou Juan noticed Zhang Ding, her face briefly awkward, but she quickly recovered, convinced that she owed him nothing and that he had wasted her youth.

"Zhang Ding, is this your new wife? She’s not bad," Zhou Juan said icily, her eyes filled with jealousy as she gazed at the younger, more beautiful Zhang Ting.

The bald boss was surprised. "You two know each other?"

Zhang Ding and Zhou Juan ignored him, staring at each other.

Zhang Ting, sharp as ever, had already guessed much. She took the initiative, wrapping her arms around Zhang Ding and resting her head on his shoulder. "I’m Zhang Ding’s wife—we just got married," she said to Zhou Juan.

Zhang Ding nodded gratefully to Zhang Ting, understanding that she wanted to spare him embarrassment in front of his ex-wife.

Zhou Juan was astonished. In her eyes, Zhang Ding was too mediocre ever to find another partner, yet he’d not only found one, but someone prettier and younger.

"Zhang Ding, don’t look at me like that. I owe you nothing," Zhou Juan said disdainfully.

"That’s nonsense. We weren’t even divorced when you started fooling around with other men, making me a cuckold. How can you say you didn’t wrong me?" Zhang Ding grew angrier the more he thought about it, longing to slap the unfaithful woman before him.

Men have zero tolerance for their women’s infidelity.

Zhou Juan shamelessly retorted, "Hmph! You had no ability. I was blind to have followed you in the first place."

"What a mess," the bald boss finally interrupted, unable to stand it any longer. "Were you the ones causing trouble just now? How dare you hit my employee? Don’t you know whose territory this is? Looks like you’re tired of living."

Ling Tian mused silently: How could such a person be a boss?

"And how do you propose we resolve this?" Ling Tian eyed the bald boss as if he were already a corpse.

Blind to danger, the bald boss assumed Ling Tian had conceded. He became smug. "Leave one hundred thousand yuan, and let this girl stay for a couple of days—I'll have my fun, and the matter will be settled."

Ling Tian snorted in disdain. "And if I say no?"

"Screw you! If you don’t know what’s good for you, I’ll call people to beat you up, then hand you over to the police. You’ll see what’s coming to you." The bald boss was utterly arrogant. "Someone, surround these people. Don’t let them escape. Today, I’m going to teach them a lesson."
