Yu Xiaogang, not knowing that Liu Erlong was the person in question, naturally had no desire to remain at Heaven Dou Royal Academy and swallow such humiliation.

After all, among the teachers at Heaven Dou Royal Academy, he was the one who had it worst.

The other teachers from Shrek Academy at least possessed strength at the level of Soul Emperors or above. However unruly the students were, they would not dare go too far. If they truly pushed matters too far and someone struck back in anger, no one knew what would become of the teachers, but the students would certainly have to bid this splendid world farewell.

Yet Yu Xiaogang, a mere level twenty-nine Great Soul Master, had no real authority at all. The older students all had greater soul power than he did. If not for Flender occasionally taking a seat of honor in his classroom, Yu Xiaogang would likely already have entered history as the first teacher at Heaven Dou Royal Academy ever beaten up by students.

Yu Xiaogang had no objections, and once Zhao Wuji and the others learned that Flender had found them a better place, they raised both hands in support. Back then, the reason these people had followed Flender to establish Shrek in a remote mountain village outside Soto City was precisely because they disliked restraint. They had never imagined that, after passing the age of fifty, they would still have to endure the indignities of those noble lords here. If not for the children, they would have packed up and left long ago.

With everyone in agreement, Flender immediately offered his farewells to Meng Shenji.

Meng Shenji understood all too well what Shrek and the others had been through, but there was nothing he could do about it.

In the end, Heaven Dou Royal Academy belonged to the imperial family. He was nothing more than an employee. What right did he have to stand up for the people of Shrek?

Unless Prince Xuexing committed some outrage that offended both heaven and men, these petty maneuvers would accomplish nothing even if he complained all the way to Emperor Xueye.

"Since Dean Flender has made up his mind, this old man will not try to keep you any longer. Dean Flender, I wish you all a safe journey!"

Meng Shenji let out a sigh. It was a pity about those astonishing children, the Shrek Seven Devils. They were still young; this generation might not amount to much, but in the next Soul Master Tournament they would surely be unstoppable and bring the championship trophy back to Heaven Dou Royal Academy.

Flender bowed deeply to Meng Shenji before taking his leave. He was genuinely grateful to this educational committee member, but the defects of Heaven Dou Royal Academy were too deeply rooted. Alone, he could not change the problem at its source.

...

On Xiao Yu and Qian Renxue's side, after they had completely wiped out Ferreira's direct troops, events unfolded exactly as Xiao Yu had predicted. The rebel armies in the other cities, left leaderless, hurriedly submitted their letters of surrender to Qian Renxue even before the Heaven Dou Empire's pacification forces reached their gates.

The suppression of the rebellion went astonishingly smoothly, and the great weight in Qian Renxue's heart finally lifted. There was only one thing left that made her grind her teeth in fury.

That was the fact that Xiao Yu, that bastard, had completely ignored her advice. The moment night fell, he slipped into his own tent and sealed it off with soul power. Although Qian Renxue no longer used spirit power to probe inside, she did not even need to think hard to know exactly what that bastard was doing in there.

"That lecher is going to die at a woman's hands sooner or later!"

Qian Renxue glared at Xiao Yu's tent in the distance and cursed under her breath.

Inside the tent, Xiao Yu had just finished a fiercely passionate battle. His left arm held the gentle and lovely Ye Lingling, while his right held the fiery and uninhibited Huo Wu. The sensations of it were indeed enough to linger in the memory.

Suddenly, a strange tremor from his martial soul caused Xiao Yu to open his eyes. His whole body jolted, and it felt as though something in the darkness was calling to him.

"Hm?"

Though Xiao Yu's movement was slight, Ye Lingling and Huo Wu were both soul masters. Even after such frenzy, they still retained their instinctive vigilance, and that faint tremor was enough to wake them.

Ye Lingling knew Xiao Yu best. Seeing the expression on his face, she understood at once that he was not thinking about that sort of thing, and could not help asking, "What is it? Has something happened?"

"Nothing," Xiao Yu said, shaking his head. "My martial soul suddenly reacted. It feels as though something nearby is calling to me."

"Since it's not far away, why don't we go and take a look right now?" Huo Wu, ever the action-oriented one, leaped out of bed without another word and began putting on her clothes.

"All right."

Xiao Yu nodded. According to the martial soul's reaction, the place calling to him was not very far away. It would not hurt to make the trip, and if he left things hanging in his mind, he doubted he would be able to sleep anyway.

The three of them quickly tidied up, left the camp, and Xiao Yu, following the guidance of his martial soul, headed straight for their destination.

The patrol soldiers outside the camp naturally noticed the three of them, but who in the camp did not know that Xiao Yu was the crown prince's honored guest, and that he had even slain a powerful Soul Saint in the earlier battle? Who would dare step forward and question such a person?

Not far outside the camp lay a stretch of mountain forest. Under cover of night, the three figures soon vanished into the range.

On the uneven mountain path, Xiao Yu walked in front at a brisk pace, holding the delicate hands of the two women.

A military encampment could never be established where powerful soul beasts dwelled. Campfires at night easily attracted attacks. Though there were some soul beasts living in these mountains, they were all of the ten-year level; not a single hundred-year beast could be seen.

Xiao Yu merely released a trace of soul power, and those weak soul beasts were so terrified that they nearly lost their wits. They fled from him as though avoiding a plague god, let alone daring to come attack them.

Before long, Xiao Yu had reached the mountainside of the target peak and stopped.

Seeing him halt, Ye Lingling asked softly, "Brother Xiao Yu, is it here?"

Xiao Yu nodded. Then he suddenly turned and shouted into the pitch-black shadows behind them, "How long do you plan on following me?"

"Your senses are quite sharp. Looks like you haven't let women distract you from your cultivation!"

After a scoffing laugh, a tall blonde woman emerged from the darkness. It was none other than Qian Renxue. For some reason, she was no longer using the disguise of Xue Qinghe and had instead restored her true appearance to come here.

Seeing her, Ye Lingling, who knew Qian Renxue, had a slight change in expression. Though she saw Xue Qinghe in disguise every day, when she beheld Qian Renxue's stunning true face, she still could not help feeling a touch of inferiority and tightened her hand around Xiao Yu's.

Huo Wu, who did not know Qian Renxue, looked wary and assumed a defensive stance. Staring at Qian Renxue, she said coldly, "Sneaking around like that—what do you want?"

Seeing this, Ye Lingling gently tugged at Huo Wu's hand and whispered, "Sister Huo Wu, don't misunderstand. She's Brother Xiao Yu's friend."

The Blazing Academy was loyal to the imperial family, and so Ye Lingling only offered that explanation, without revealing Qian Renxue's true identity.

Only then did Huo Wu loosen her tightly clenched fists. Looking at Qian Renxue's exquisite face, then turning to glance at Xiao Yu, she could not help muttering softly, "A womanizer."
