Chapter 49: The New Attribute Panel
A sumptuous dinner, which by all accounts should have lasted at least an hour, was devoured by the three of them in just twenty minutes, leaving behind nothing but a collection of empty, disheveled dirty plates.
Auntie Zhang, the housekeeper, was honest and diligent; she soon had the dining room tidied up and spotless. Wang Xiaoqian and Li Xin sat silently on the sofa, watching television, when Auntie Zhang came over, mentioning she had something to attend to at home and would return early the next morning to prepare breakfast.
Wang Xiaoqian was aware of Auntie Zhang’s family situation: her youngest son was in middle school, her husband had rented a place nearby to look after him, and Auntie Zhang often went back to visit. Without a second thought, Wang Xiaoqian agreed, even sending her home with some fruit.
No sooner had she left the villa than Auntie Zhang fished out her phone and dialed from an alternate number.
The call was answered by a refined middle-aged lady, her voice languid yet elegant.
“Madam, I’ve done as you instructed. This is the first time Miss has brought a young man home—if it works out, that would be a wonderful thing.”
“Very good, Sister Zhang. Thank you for taking such good care of Xiaoqian; we’re fortunate to have you.”
“Oh, Madam, it’s nothing! You’ve always been so kind to me. It’s only right that I do my part,” Auntie Zhang replied eagerly, unable to hide her excitement. This family truly treated her well.
After a few more words, Auntie Zhang hung up and cheerfully pedaled away on her bicycle.
Elsewhere, in a lavish villa in Gaoyou, a graceful, well-preserved lady with charming features set down her phone and reclined on the sofa, letting out a peal of delighted laughter.
“That silly girl finally has a boyfriend. No matter his background, as long as he treats my precious daughter well, that’s enough. All this property—won’t it all go to him in the end?”
Achoo!
Li Xin sneezed inexplicably.
“Who’s talking about me behind my back?” he muttered, rubbing his nose with a frown. Wang Xiaoqian shot him a glance, then got up to leave.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“To my bedroom. Why, are you planning to follow me?”
“Uh… better not. Where am I sleeping tonight?”
“In the guest room, right across from mine.”
“Oh, all right. Good night.” Li Xin smiled calmly, got up, switched off the television and the lights, and followed Wang Xiaoqian upstairs, entering the guest bedroom.
It was spacious—over thirty square meters, with its own bathroom. This was truly a mansion.
After showering and changing, Li Xin leaned against the window, gazing at the distant, night-shrouded canal, carefully recalling his recent remolding experience. He’d fainted at the time, triggering a medical episode, but thanks to Auntie Zhang and the doctor, he’d recovered quickly—his remolding was now complete.
He was at level zero, starting anew, which meant he needed a computer and a game to initiate his first fusion. Yet, for some reason, an uneasy feeling lingered in his mind.
After some thought, he went to the door opposite and knocked.
“What is it?” Wang Xiaoqian’s voice betrayed a hint of annoyance at the interruption.
“Sorry, I’d like to borrow your computer for a bit,” Li Xin apologized softly, making his request clear.
“A computer? What for?”
“Just to look something up.”
“Oh, all right.” With that, Wang Xiaoqian opened the door.
She stood before him in a sheer, pale lavender nightdress, the outlines of a pink bra and panties faintly visible beneath. The curves of her body, the enticing silhouette, her straight, smooth, ivory legs—all exuded a magnetic allure. She smiled faintly, her dimples enchanting, her long hair draped over her shoulders and just above her chest, swaying gently like slender, mischievous fingers.
Wang Xiaoqian was a beauty in her own right—not flawless, perhaps, but her figure more than made up for it.
Li Xin, unaccustomed to such a sight, felt his mind go fuzzy, warmth spreading across his upper lip.
“Huh? What’s happening to me?” he murmured, frowning.
“Mister, you’ve got a nosebleed,” Wang Xiaoqian giggled, half mocking, half teasing.
Li Xin snatched the laptop and fled in embarrassment.
Leaning against the doorframe, Wang Xiaoqian’s lips curled in amusement, her cheeks tinged with peach-blossom pink, her eyes glimmering with mischief.
“Hmph, as if I can’t handle you…” she murmured, a sly smile creeping across her face as she plotted her next move.
After rinsing with cold water for some time, Li Xin finally stemmed the nosebleed. He gave a wry smile. “Li Xin, honestly, how useless can you be? The girl was still clothed. If she’d been standing there stark naked, would you have fainted on the spot?”
He returned to the desk, taking a moment to admire the black laptop.
War God GX10-KP7GT.
Currently the most powerful and formidable gaming laptop on the market. Its black body, irregular rectangular shape, and twin green lines forming a cross on the lid resembled the weapon of a war god—striking and awe-inspiring. Wang Xiaoqian was certainly wealthy; who else would spend tens of thousands on something like this?
Just five seconds to boot up, and the 1080P high-definition screen revealed only a few scattered icons. The essentials, QQ, YY, an encrypted folder, and a game.
QQ Games.
Scanning through the list, Li Xin selected “Fight the Landlord.”

Li Xin: Spirit of the Game
Level: 1
Growth Experience: 0/100
Attribute Points: 110
Special Skill: Universe Shift
Li Xin focused his attention on the attribute panel to the left.
Game Player: Li Xin
Strength: 0
Speed: 0
Intelligence: 0
Agility: 0
Spirit: 0
All stats were reset to zero, with only the attribute points retained. What did this mean? Li Xin was instantly elated—if he had a steel plate at hand, he’d be the only man in the world able to punch right through it.
Retaining all attribute points meant he could allocate them as he wished, granting himself the power of an 11th-level player right from the start. For now, he didn’t know if leveling up again would yield more points. If not, he’d advance as quickly as possible; if so, he’d need to consider his allocation carefully.
The attribute interface hadn’t changed much from before—already optimized and clear. The only new feature was in the central area.
Previously, a single rotating avatar represented him.
Now, three small icons appeared below the avatar: Hide, Mall, and Info.
Info: System messages and notifications, previously in the upper right, now located here.
Mall: Newly unlocked, but the icon was grayed out and unavailable.
Hide: This intrigued Li Xin the most. There was no explanation; it simply meant “hidden.” The icon was also gray and inaccessible. He had his suspicions, but would have to confirm them later.
Further down, the HP bar had moved to the bottom center. In the middle, three new features were listed:
Luck: 5 (out of 10)
Power: Ordinary
Tasks: None
Li Xin was beginning to understand, preparing to inspect each in turn when a chime sounded.
[System Message]: First mission assigned—50 consecutive wins in Fight the Landlord.
[System Message]: The reward is generous; please complete the task as soon as possible~~~
[Note 1]: Tasks are randomly assigned. Scoring is paused during mission completion.
[Note 2]: The penalty for failure is severe—please be careful! ~~~
