Chapter 25: Ten Thousand Corpses Pay Homage!

Li Xingyue’s tone was filled with resentment.

Shura chuckled after hearing this, walked over, and plopped down beside him. "Little brother, we came rushing over the moment we heard your call. We didn't delay for even a second!"

Shura looked perfectly sincere as he spoke, but he was immediately exposed by Tyrant. "We were ready to come over just now, but Shura insisted on playing one more round of Fight the Landlord."

"Damn it, I knew you were the sneakiest of them all!" Li Xingyue was furious and swung a fist at Shura's shoulder.

Seeing his lie exposed, Shura looked a bit awkward. He immediately pulled a cigarette from his pocket, shoved it into Li Xingyue’s mouth, and lit it for him.

"Little brother, don't listen to Tyrant's nonsense. He’s just trying to sow discord between us brothers!"

Li Xingyue snorted coldly and turned his head away.

The conversation among the group was heard clearly by the people opposite them, leaving them momentarily stunned.

"Wait... did I hear that right? Did he just call those two Tyrant and Shura?"

"It seems... yes, I heard it too."

"Now that you mention it, they look exactly like the pictures on the Zombie King bounty list!"

So, those people on the other side were actually Tier 8 Zombie Kings!

The short man who had been holding the gun earlier was terrified, but after thinking back on their conversation, he felt something was off.

"If they were really Zombie Kings, how could they be so kind and friendly to this kid?"

"And none of them even look like high-tier beings. They must have used some trick to disguise themselves as Zombie Kings!"

Once the short man offered his three-point explanation, the people around him calmed down significantly. They began to analyze the situation and found that the short man’s words actually made quite a bit of sense.

"Exactly! If they were really Tier 8, we would have died countless times by now!"

"That's right, and since when do zombies smoke and drink? If you're going to pretend, at least do a better job!"

After everyone chimed in, the fear vanished, and they began to grin again.

Li Xingyue watched them still smirking and spouting obscenities, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration.

After taking the final drag, Li Xingyue flicked the cigarette butt away, stood up, and took a few steps forward, scanning the crowd. "It’s not very nice of you to be so disrespectful to Tier 8 Zombie Kings. I was actually going to be merciful and plead for you, tsk, tsk, tsk."

Blood Moon frowned at this point and put down her nail clippers. "Cut the crap. Kill them now!" With that, she prepared to strike.

"Wait!"

Li Xingyue quickly stopped Blood Moon and whispered something in her ear. Blood Moon, who had been looking fierce, froze for a moment after hearing him, then a playful smile appeared on her face.

Seeing that Blood Moon agreed, Li Xingyue then leaned over to whisper a few words into the ears of Tyrant, Shura, and Nun.

The three were also stunned at first, but then they all nodded in agreement. Shura, in particular, clapped him on the shoulder and burst into wild laughter. "You really have a lot of twisted ideas, kid!"

Tyrant, Nun, Shura, and Blood Moon all closed their eyes and stopped moving.

This maneuver left the group opposite them completely baffled.

"What are these people doing? Why did they all close their eyes?"

"Who knows? Just putting on a show."

Seeing them starting to stir and prepare to draw their weapons, Li Xingyue placed a finger to his lips and shushed them.

Soon, all four of them opened their eyes and nodded at him.

Li Xingyue knew that now they only needed to wait quietly. He looked at the crowd once more. "I hope you can still laugh in a moment."

The crowd found his words baffling. Some had already sensed that something was wrong, because Li Xingyue and his group hadn't shown even a hint of panic or fear from the beginning.

"Captain, I think we should just kill them. Staying here makes me feel creeped out for no reason."

"Me too. We're too far from Freedom City. Let's just finish them off and go back to submit the mission!"

The team leaders, urged by their subordinates, were wavering. After all, they had come here to explore Star Sea City, and they were reluctant to leave without accomplishing anything.

*Rumble, rumble!*

"Huh? Did you guys hear something?"

"I heard it, and I feel like the ground just shook!"

Then, the tremors began to intensify.

"Holy crap, is it an earthquake?"

"Look all around you!!!"

Everyone looked in every direction and saw a vast, dark mass in the distance, though they couldn't identify what was moving toward them so rapidly.

As the distance closed, they finally saw it clearly.

"Zom... zom... zombies!!!"

"Why are there so many zombies! Run!!!"

"Run? Where to? We're already surrounded!"

Everyone was in a panic, wanting to escape but having nowhere to go.

If it were just a few dozen or a hundred zombies, they wouldn't be this panicked; even against a few hundred, they could fight with all their might to break through the encirclement and escape by vehicle.

But what they faced was clearly tens of thousands of zombies. Even if everyone present were Tier 6, they would likely be doomed, let alone the fact that none of them were even Tier 3.

"It's over. I just became an evolver, I haven't even started to enjoy life yet! Wuwuwu~"

"Damn it, you're only Tier 1! I just reached Tier 2 yesterday!"

Soon, the zombie army stopped 50 meters away, forming a circular enclosure. Then, in perfect unison, they knelt on one knee and bowed their heads.
