For a few seconds, the crowd was merely stunned, but then they erupted into raucous laughter, as if they had just heard the most ridiculous joke in history.

Some collapsed onto the ground laughing, some wept tears of mirth, and others… wait, did someone actually piss themselves?

Yellow-Tooth covered his face, shaking his head incessantly. "I really should reflect on why I ever became teammates with you..."

Li Xingyue knew people would laugh, but he hadn't expected someone to lose control of their bladder.

The group laughed for a full seven or eight minutes before they finally began to calm down.

"I honestly never imagined a joke could be this funny, hahahaha!"

"This kid is too humorous, claiming the Corpse King is his sworn brother!"

"Yeah, it feels like he's been scared out of his wits!"

"I thought he was going to say his boss was an eighth-tier evolver from the Free City, but he just went straight to changing species, hahaha!"

The groups, which had been at each other's throats and keeping a wary watch just moments ago, were now chatting harmoniously.

The muscular man, seeing everyone debating, felt his opportunity to shine had arrived. He stepped forward and began to bluster at Li Xingyue: "Damn it, don't talk to me about eighth-tier Corpse Kings; I wouldn't be afraid even if it were a tenth-tier one!"

The surrounding crowd didn't react at first, but then they realized this was a chance to grandstand—after all, it wasn't like they were actually facing the Corpse King—so they all began to chime in:

"Exactly! Let me tell you, even if the Nun showed up, she'd only be fit to tie my shoelaces!"

"Heh, if Blood Moon dares to come, I'll take her on directly!"

Damn, they actually dared to say that! Did they really think an eighth-tier Corpse King was a pushover?

"Alright! Too noisy!" The short man fired a shot into the air again. "Come on, we're standing right here. You shout, let's see if they come? Hahahaha!"

Li Xingyue knew the short man was humiliating him, but he had to endure it. Since that was the case, he might as well try; what if it actually worked?

He took a deep breath, lifted his head, and cupped his hands around his mouth like a megaphone: "Tyrant!!! Shura!!! Nun!!! Blood Moon!!! Come save me!!!"

His shout soared into the sky, creating echoes that drifted out across the empty road.

After Li Xingyue finished, the crowd was still subconsciously tense, instinctively looking around, but they didn't see a single thing.

"Hahaha, the kid actually shouted!"

"Alright, we've played long enough. Just kill him!"

Seeing the group preparing to strike, Li Xingyue felt his heart tighten. He drew his long blade, ready to face the enemy.

"Wow! Tyrant, you're here!"

Li Xingyue looked past the crowd and shouted in surprise.

The group, hearing this, felt a sudden chill run down their spines. They hurriedly looked behind them, only to find absolutely nothing!

When they turned their heads back, they saw Li Xingyue and Yellow-Tooth already running far away.

"Damn, that kid is a real snake!"

"Hell! I almost believed him for a second!"

"Who didn't? Don't let him die too easily later!"

The group didn't bother with their vehicles; they gave chase on foot.

Yellow-Tooth gave Li Xingyue a thumbs-up while running: "Old Li, you've got guts. Even I believed you for a second there. You really are a sly dog!"

Li Xingyue felt a vein throb on his forehead: "Shut up and keep running!"

Both were running at full tilt, but the group behind them was just as fast, and the distance between them was constantly shrinking.

They ran for nearly two more kilometers, and by then, the two of them were exhausted, their speed steadily slowing down.

This couldn't go on!

Li Xingyue skirted around a small traffic bollard and was just about to encourage Yellow-Tooth when—*clatter!*

He looked back to see Yellow-Tooth had tripped over the bollard, falling to the ground and losing consciousness.

"F***ing hell!!!"

Li Xingyue cursed and kicked the fallen Yellow-Tooth twice. "You are truly pathetic! Can't you walk around if you can't step over it?"

No sooner had he finished kicking than the large group caught up. They were all panting, hunched over or sitting on the ground to catch their breath.

"Damn, those two can really run!"

"Hoo... hoo... don't... don't waste breath on him, just finish him off!"

"If he... if he doesn't die, I'm going to f***ing die! Hoo..."

It was over. Truly over. Li Xingyue decided he was done running. He sat on a nearby bollard, pulled a cigarette from his pocket, and lit it. If he was going to die, he would die in style.

Li Xingyue's attitude infuriated the gang. A few who had recovered enough picked up their blades and walked over, ready to cut him down.

Li Xingyue grabbed his own blade, prepared for a final stand.

A fat man charged forward first, shouting as he swung directly at Li Xingyue's head!

The move looked intimidating at first glance, but in reality, Li Xingyue dodged it with a slight shift of his body and then swung his blade, slicing into the tall man's neck.

The tall man stumbled and slowly collapsed to the ground.

Did they really think they could just go around killing people with skills like that?

The three behind saw the fat man fall and stopped underestimating their opponent, preparing to rush him together.

"Hey, wait? Brothers, I'm a bit nearsighted—look over there, is something moving?"

One of the men sitting on the ground spotted movement in the distance behind Li Xingyue and tugged at the person next to him.

The person next to him, who was trying to rest, was annoyed and glanced forward: "What is it? It's just four people!"

"Oh, never mind then... Wait? Four people???"

The conversation instantly grabbed everyone's attention, and they all looked behind Li Xingyue.

Li Xingyue heard them and turned around, noticing four figures walking toward them from about 200 meters away.

Heh, they were still here after all. The heart that had been in his throat finally settled back into his chest.

Within a minute, the four Corpse Kings reached the group.

Tyrant was carrying a wine bottle, taking a swig every now and then.

Shura had three cigarettes in his mouth, blowing smoke rings incessantly.

The Nun was holding a small mirror, carefully admiring her own peerless beauty.

Blood Moon was holding a pair of nail clippers, looking down to trim her nails.

At this moment, almost all the men had their eyes wide open, staring lecherously at the Nun and Blood Moon.

Meanwhile, all the women and a few of the men were gazing at Tyrant and Shura with hearts fluttering, as if they were already swooning.

"I'm telling you, these two women are just too beautiful!"

"I can't take it, I feel like I'm about to lose my mind."

"Oh my god, those legs are to die for!"

Everyone was stunned by their otherworldly beauty, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

Though, that was normal; even Li Xingyue, who had spent the most time with them, was still dazed for a moment upon seeing them again.

By now, many could no longer suppress their overwhelming desires and were planning to walk forward.

Only a few remained slightly more sober, their faces showing expressions of confusion.

"Why do I feel like they look so familiar?"

"I have that feeling too, like I've seen them somewhere before!"

"Don't be ridiculous. Don't tell me you're going to say these two women look like your first love? Hahahaha!"

One boy looked at the four faces, feeling certain he had seen them somewhere, but no matter how hard he racked his brain, he couldn't remember!

Li Xingyue turned to look at the Nun and the others, his face full of speechlessness: "Why couldn't you guys have waited until after I was dead to show up!"
