Chapter 6: Don’t Bring Shame to Our Ancestors!
“Put down your weapons.” A voice sounded by his ear, and even though the language was completely incomprehensible, the response was instinctive.
The warehouse suddenly fell silent.
It was as if the intense gunfire and screams from moments before had been nothing but an illusion.
“Truly remarkable,” Shen Yu stepped out from the gray mist, scrutinizing the people before him.
Judging by their attire, they were indeed violent criminals.
Their weapons were impressive—everyone armed with rifles.
Under normal circumstances, without overwhelming firepower, it would be difficult to subdue them without casualties.
Yet now, each person stood vacant-eyed, like walking corpses. Even when Shen Yu waved his hand right before their eyes, there was no reaction.
“They can only follow simple commands for now. To achieve strict obedience will require some training,” the Shen Yu in ancient attire approached with a smile. “But the primordial spirit seed has already been planted. I programmed control phrases you can use to train them gradually. Even so, no matter how much training, they’ll remain rigid compared to normal people and won’t handle complex orders well.”
“Sounds like hypnosis?” Shen Yu pondered.
“Almost,” the ancient Shen Yu explained further. “The principle is overriding the mind with a stronger spiritual force. Some powerful martial artists can even influence reality with their spirit, creating something like a ‘domain.’ That’s a mark of strength in my world.”
He then brightened with excitement. “I just tested it—all martial abilities can be used! And although the vital energy in the air here on the home planet is incredibly sparse, living beings—including plants—still contain quite a bit of it!”
What did this mean?
It meant that here, martial arts were not only effective but held potential for development!
“I’ve also checked all the equipment—everything functions normally,” the interstellar Shen Yu added, his tone rising with enthusiasm.
“Excellent!” Shen Yu’s expression lit up.
This was undeniably the best outcome!
Technology and martial arts both operated properly, meaning the foundations of both worlds could fully manifest here.
Plans began to form vividly in Shen Yu’s mind.
But they required careful planning.
For now, after clearing out the entire warehouse, he ordered the gangsters to guard the site and contacted the head of Shen Group’s security branch in this country to hasten their arrival.
Then, they moved on to other warehouses to retrieve all remaining stored items.
---
After these tasks, Shen Yu and the two other versions of himself spent an extended time conversing in the gray mist space.
Their focus was deepening mutual understanding—of each other and their respective worlds.
It was no surprise that each world had its own language; thus, they had been communicating using languages remembered from past lives.
Moreover, though their worlds were in dire states, none had collapsed utterly.
Only a foreseeable despair lingered.
There was still hope.
“That’s enough for now. Let’s all return to prepare thoroughly,” Shen Yu said in conclusion. “There are still many tests to conduct—whether there’s any time lag, the nature of our connections and their impacts, and how to plan our layouts in each world as best as possible. After each has fixed their respective time to pass twenty-four hours, we shall meet again.”
“Agreed.” Both others felt a surge of excitement but also mental clutter; they needed to sort things out.
Such feelings were perfectly natural.
They all clearly understood the tremendous opportunities this meeting would bring to them and their worlds.
After exchanging simple “gifts,” they each vanished back into the gray mist.
Shen Yu, watching the coordinates left behind, took a deep breath and returned to his villa.
Inside the empty doomsday fortress, Ji Mingshu remained.
Although Shen Yu’s absence had lasted far longer than expected, Ji Mingshu was not overly worried—this stemmed from her confidence in her boss.
Moreover, the moment she saw Shen Yu, she immediately sensed his exceptionally good mood.
Not just good—an aura that swept away six months of anxiety, worry, and decline, replaced by joy and confidence shining from his brow.
“Did something happen, Boss?” Ji Mingshu asked curiously.
Normally, subordinates wouldn’t pry, but Ji Mingshu was different—she was practically the second-in-command of Shen Group and Shen Yu’s most trusted confidante.
Smiling, he replied, “Indeed, good news—unimaginably good news.”
Noticing the laptop clutched inversely in her hands, Shen Yu understood she had reports to deliver and put away his smile.
---
“Let’s get down to business.”
He couldn’t reveal everything about his external incarnation—not due to mistrust but risk management.
Yet complete secrecy was impossible; many plans required Ji Mingshu’s involvement.
Shen Yu considered how to phrase things.
Ji Mingshu ceased questioning and handed the laptop forward to begin her report:
“At the twenty-third minute after your departure, the national leadership held a press conference covering four key points.”
“First, they acknowledged the meteorite posed dangers beyond imagination, releasing partial information about the previous two meteorite incidents.”
“Second, they declared a state of emergency, implementing a series of urgent measures including military control.”
“Third, they initiated the largest recall of retired soldiers and began national recruitment—not compulsory but strictly selective.”
“Fourth, they established a ‘Meteor Crisis Response Department’ with powers to coordinate all levels of resources and oversee crisis management.”
“With this and the key information clips I compiled, you can see what has transpired over the past several hours.”
Clearly, the national response was swift and likely pre-planned long ago.
It was not a hasty reaction sprung from the third meteorite event alone.
All actions centered around two goals:
—Maintaining order and managing the crisis.
“From initial online reactions, although there’s some panic and concern, overall public sentiment remains stable and supportive of these measures,” Ji Mingshu concluded, showing Shen Yu some representative comments she had selected.
The most frequent and highly upvoted phrase across major platforms was:
“Fellow countrymen, the time has come again to test our land—let us not disgrace our ancestors!”
