Chapter Thirty-Two: This Is a Swarm of "Bombers"
Evolution Points: 103,600 out of 204,800
Experience: 665,000 out of 1,638,400
Just now, Qin Chuan had devoured over a hundred superior Blue Spirit Fruits in one go, significantly boosting both his essence and experience.
The Skyfaring Lynx belonged to the ranged attack class; its body was not particularly large, barely reaching a meter in height. Its primary means of attack were the twenty sharp claws and the spines on its tail, the latter being quite unique and capable of regeneration.
“That’s him! He’s got a black iron sword!”
“Stop! Don’t run! How dare you steal our Blue Spirit Fruits!”
“Take him down and hand him over to the Lord for punishment!”
“Attack!”
The ten Skyfaring Lynxes at the front charged forward, furious, leaping into the air and spreading their limbs to glide like a squadron of bombers.
“Damn! They’ve got an air force!”
Qin Chuan looked up—these ten Skyfaring Lynxes really did resemble a formation of bombers.
“Fire! Skyfaring Spines!”
A barrage of ten Skyfaring Spines rained down from above.
“Well, you’re quick to strike even before I make a move!”
Qin Chuan remained calm, dodging the bombardment with speed and precise footwork, even finding time to unleash a quick-flowing strike.
“Ding! Killed level-15 Skyfaring Lynx, gained 650 experience points, over-level kill bonus 100% experience, congratulations, host gains 1,300 experience points.”
“Ah, your resilience is nothing much!”
With a single hit, Qin Chuan dispatched his foe, then instantly returned to his original spot, ready to unleash another rapid strike.
“Ding!...”
A wail rang out.
The “bombers” soared overhead, but only five Skyfaring Lynxes remained.
“Brothers, this black iron sword is strange!”
“Yes, and this guy’s a ranged attacker too—his close combat can’t be strong.”
“That’s right, when the main force arrives, we’ll attack from above and below at once!”
In a short while, nearly a hundred Skyfaring Lynxes flooded into the orchard, completely encircling Qin Chuan.
“Surrender! Or we’ll tear you to pieces right now!”
“That’s right, whoever you are, you’re dead today!”
Qin Chuan’s true form—the black iron sword—stood at the center, radiating a faint purple glow, a sharp aura drifting through the air.
“Surrender? Impossible. The word ‘surrender’ doesn’t exist in my vocabulary!”
“Heavenfall Flowing Strike!”
Qin Chuan had no interest in wasting time. With a casual gesture, he unleashed a powerful move and charged forward.
Purple light flashed; a hundred sword shadows rained down from above.
“Slash, slash, slash!”
Screams echoed.
“Ding! Killed level-15 Skyfaring Lynx, gained 650 experience points, over-level kill bonus 100% experience, congratulations, host gains 1,300 experience points.”
...
“Brothers, this guy is terrifying! Attack from both sides!”
The remaining Skyfaring Lynxes, seeing yet more of their number fall in the blink of an eye, hastily called out warnings.
“You take three squads and bomb him! The rest, come with me to tear him apart!”
These Skyfaring Lynxes were clearly experienced in battle, quickly organizing an effective assault.
“Fire! Skyfaring Spines!”
A squadron of “bombers” swept past, unleashing a wild bombardment on Qin Chuan, and as soon as the barrage ended, the Skyfaring Lynxes on the ground pounced in unison.
“Heh, come closer, all of you.”
Watching the Skyfaring Lynxes lunge at him, Qin Chuan was quite pleased—after all, they were all sources of essence and experience.
“I dodge and strike, dodge and strike.”
Screams erupted.
“Haha, missed me! Farewell!”
...
At this point, the sharpness of Qin Chuan’s true form was overwhelming. Not even a level-15 assault-class lord could necessarily withstand his monstrous attacks, let alone these ranged attackers.
In a flash, more than half of the hundred Skyfaring Lynxes were dead or wounded; the rest were stunned.
“Brothers, something’s wrong! How can that black iron sword be so fast?”
“Mother, that’s terrifying!”
“We’re doomed, we’ve met a tough one!”
“Don’t attack him—run!”
In an instant, the remaining forty or fifty Skyfaring Lynxes scattered in all directions, fleeing madly.
“Damn! Don’t run! Stay a while longer!”
Qin Chuan was quite frustrated; these creatures were so afraid of death that he could only fire off a few quick-flowing strikes after them to salvage some gains.
Sharp cries and clashing sounds rang out as he chased for a while, but soon lost interest.
“Forget it, it’s just a bit of experience. Let them run.”
Suddenly, a large Skyfaring Spine shot down from above, aiming at Qin Chuan.
“Ding! Discovered Tier 2 superior mutant Skyfaring Lynx Lord, quality: exceptional, level 16.”
“Damn, a sneak attack?”
Qin Chuan reacted instantly, blinking out of the attack range.
“Skyfaring Divine Claw!”
The furious voice of the Skyfaring Lynx Lord rang out—it unleashed a skill and pounced from the air, almost landing right in front of Qin Chuan as soon as he blinked away.
“Well now, this is interesting!”
Qin Chuan’s black iron sword spun and swept out.
“Clang!”
The clash sent Qin Chuan recoiling a few steps.
But the Skyfaring Lynx Lord fared even worse, bouncing away and crashing to the ground.
“What?! How can this be?!”
The Skyfaring Lynx Lord was so shocked he could barely speak. With the advantage of aerial skills, his attack strength had been greatly increased, yet he gained no upper hand and even suffered a loss.
With Qin Chuan’s monstrous resilience, he was on par with even an assault-class mutant lord, so this outcome was only natural.
But no matter how hard the Skyfaring Lynx Lord racked his brains, he couldn’t fathom why Qin Chuan possessed such overwhelming resilience.
Qin Chuan did not continue attacking. Instead, he spoke calmly: “At last, you’ve arrived.”
“What do you mean? Were you waiting for me on purpose?”
The Skyfaring Lynx Lord was utterly confused by Qin Chuan’s words.
“Yes, you’re right. I was waiting for you.”
Qin Chuan was nothing if not forthright; after all, the essence and experience of a level-16 lord were truly enticing.
“How arrogant! Do you know whose orchard this is? You’ve committed a capital offense!”
The Skyfaring Lynx Lord could not help but laugh in his rage. The entire orchard of Blue Spirit Fruits and its lush greenery had been destroyed, and he would not escape responsibility.
Qin Chuan chuckled carelessly, “No idea, and I don’t care who it belongs to.”
“Haha! I’ve never seen someone so brazen! Do you know Blackwind Cliff? Just a stomp from them would shake the whole Plains of Strife!”
“Blackwind Cliff? Never heard of it. But no matter—I’m not letting you go today.”
Qin Chuan truly had never heard of it, though he had spotted the name on a map once. It was far from here.
As the saying goes, distant water can’t put out a nearby fire. By the time Blackwind Cliff got word, Qin Chuan would have vanished without a trace.
He had grown quite fond of being a bandit—robbing the rich to help the poor was becoming more addicting the more he did it.
“In any case, I’m dead either way. Today, I’ll drag you down with me!”
The Skyfaring Lynx Lord’s gaze burned with fury and hatred. The orchard had once been his, but Blackwind Cliff had seized it and forced him to guard it.
He felt stifled and powerless to resist—such was the fate on the Spirit Plane: the strong ruled over the weak.
Now that Qin Chuan had destroyed the orchard and the tribute deadline approached, his own doom was sealed.
The Skyfaring Lynx Lord had thought of escaping, but with Blackwind Cliff’s restriction imprinted in his spirit core, no matter how far he ran, they could kill him with a thought.
Qin Chuan, of course, knew nothing of this. He simply focused on devouring, relentlessly strengthening himself.
