Xiao Yi fiercely drove away the beastmen crowding around Yun Fu and ordered them back into line. Only when they scattered under the pressure of his mental power did he immediately straighten his clothes and smooth his hair before approaching Yun Fu with a refined smile as warm as spring sunshine.

“Miss, are you here to visit a friend? What is your friend’s name? Perhaps I could show you the way.”

Xiao Yi swore that never in his life had his voice sounded so gentle.

His behavior was extremely strange. In particular, when Yun Fu glanced at the name badge on his chest, the corner of her eye twitched almost imperceptibly.

“Doctor Xiao, it’s me, Yun Fu.”

The moment she said this, Xiao Yi’s expression became as colorful as a paint palette that had been knocked over.

Yun Fu understood. It was difficult to accept realizing that the female he had recently condemned in his messages was standing before him, taking the initiative to flatter him.

So, magnanimously, Yun Fu helped him out.

“Doctor Xiao, I’m here for work. These are some afternoon refreshments I brought for everyone. I’ll be going over there now, all right?”

Xiao Yi nodded absently. He looked at the beautiful woman before him, who seemed to be glowing, her eyes clear and limpid. He simply could not believe that she was the vicious female who had hounded him relentlessly and betrayed her beast husband.

What was more, he had fallen in love with this female at first sight—the very female he had loathed to the extreme!

Xiao Yi clutched his chest, feeling as though he could not bear it.

Seeing that he looked on the verge of a heart attack, Yun Fu considerately gave him time to process everything. She smiled at him, then took 01 to find the other medical staff.

She turned away too quickly to see Xiao Yi’s face flush crimson after her smile.

His heart no longer hurt. Blushing, Xiao Yi stared blankly at the female’s slender, captivating back.

He even began making excuses for Yun Fu. She did not look like a bad person. Perhaps there had been some misunderstanding about what happened in the past.

He was so outstanding. What was wrong with a female admiring him? She had merely been somewhat extreme in the way she acted.

Besides, Yun Fu could not be blamed for everything. Xiao Yi had heard that her four beast husbands detested her so much that they would not even return to the villa they shared. His own cousin was among them.

Thinking of that formidable cousin, Xiao Yi frowned in frustration.

It was because of his cousin, Jiang Si, that he had disliked Yun Fu. Not long ago, in order to avoid her, he had gone off to hunt space pirates and could not even return home.

Xiao Yi admired this cousin of his more than anyone else. Influenced by Jiang Si, he had formed a preconceived dislike of Yun Fu, and whenever she approached him, he had responded with vicious words.

But if he looked at things from Yun Fu’s perspective, she was already suffering from being hated by her own beast husbands. What was wrong with her seeking contact with other males?

Xiao Yi pinched the bridge of his nose.

Since his cousin did not like Yun Fu, then accepting her advances should probably not count as betraying his cousin, right?

If his cousin changed his opinion of Yun Fu after returning, the three of them were already familiar with one another. Living together should not cause any friction.

Nothing could be better than the three of them living a happy life together.

Imagining the blissful days of having a wife, children, and a warm home, Xiao Yi felt his nose grow hot. He successfully brainwashed himself, dispelled his misgivings, and headed upstairs.

Upstairs, Yun Fu was handing out afternoon refreshments to her colleagues.

Her coworkers were astonished by her appearance as well. However, the original Yun Fu had only visited the medical center a few times, and on each occasion she had gone there to pester Xiao Yi. She had never visited their department.

Her colleagues did not have a particularly strong impression of her. They had merely assumed that she was another lazy and spoiled female.

Now, seeing Yun Fu’s splendidly beautiful face, along with the attractive and delicious refreshments she had brought, their eyes lit up again and again.

Food given by a beauty really did taste especially good.

Most of her colleagues were female. After Yun Fu handed out the refreshments and chatted with them about the latest gossip on the Star Network, they quickly became acquainted.

But once they had finished eating, they had to go comfort the beastmen waiting outside, and everyone’s spirits immediately fell.

“So annoying. Those beastmen don’t have female partners, and they’re always out slaughtering the Zerg. The aura around them is terrifying, and they’re so rough. I really don’t want to comfort them. Every time I have to deal with them, I’m scared to death.”

“Exactly. Some of them also have very high contamination levels. Last time, I was nearly scratched by one of them.”

“The Empire should never have allowed beastmen with such high mental contamination to come out, let alone send them to the medical center for treatment.”

The women complained unhappily. They were afraid of the beastmen, yet they loved working in medicine and could not bear to return to a life of being fawned over all day long—a life consisting of shopping, attending banquets, and bearing children for their beast husbands. That would be far too dull.

Yun Fu held a cup of fruit tea as she listened to them complain.

Hearing that they were afraid of the beastmen’s instability, she spoke up.

“The Imperial Research Institute has recently developed a soothing perfume. It can effectively calm beastmen on the verge of mental collapse. For those whose contamination level is below seventy percent, it can even reduce their contamination. You can buy some and try it when it becomes available.”

This result had been discovered during the last incident at the detention center, when she sprayed the perfume on the beastmen.

Even while working, she had not forgotten to promote the product at her workplace. There could not be a more qualified business partner than herself. Yun Fu praised herself silently.

The females widened their eyes.

“Is there really a perfume that can lower a beastman’s contamination level and calm a mental breakdown?”

Yun Fu nodded firmly and even brought up Qin Min.

“The perfume was developed by Qin Min. You should all know how capable he is.”

Qin Min had helped her formulate the perfume, while all the subsequent batches had been produced by the institute. Technically, she was not lying.

Qin Min had developed inhibitors before and was hailed as the Empire’s finest researcher. His abilities were beyond dispute.

The females were delighted and announced that they would definitely place an order once the research institute began selling the soothing perfume.

None of them doubted Yun Fu’s words. After all, the four men were famous throughout the Empire, and everyone paid close attention to them. Everyone knew that they had been matched with Yun Fu.

A female naturally knew about her own beast husbands, did she not?

Speaking of beast husbands, several of the females noticed that Yun Fu’s temper was not as terrible as the rumors claimed. In fact, she seemed quite pleasant.

They asked whether Qin Min treated her gently and whether Gu Lin was strict in private.

Some even asked rather suggestive questions: What did it feel like to mate with a merfolk beastman? Was a black dragon difficult to satisfy? And when a fox did that sort of thing, would it become so excited that it breathed fire?

Yun Fu: “...”

She told them that she was not familiar with her beast husbands and had not yet become intimate with them.

The only exception was when Gu Lin had suffered a mental breakdown and she had bitten his lower lip. They probably would not believe that story anyway.

Fortunately, it was time to begin work. The women left the lounge one after another, grumbling as they went to comfort and treat the beastmen. Only then could Yun Fu escape the awkward subject.

Yun Fu had already asked her colleagues what she needed to do. After changing clothes, she was just about to begin work when she saw Xiao Yi, who appeared to have styled his hair and sprayed on perfume.

He had not yet taken his afternoon refreshments, so Yun Fu handed him the remaining portion.

Xiao Yi accepted it delightedly at first. Then, as though he had suddenly remembered something, he held the refreshments as if the bag were scalding hot and nearly threw it onto the floor.

Hesitant yet carrying the joy of being pampered by a female, he asked,

“Is there a dragon-horn ornament in here?”

“Yun Fu, the messages I sent through my mind terminal may have sounded harsh, but I truly don’t want any dragon-horn ornaments.”
