Cheers and screams echoed one after another.

The referee’s voice rang out with passion: “Next match! That someone versus Anthony!”

As soon as the words fell, the arena fell into an unspoken silence.

“That someone?”

“Who is that?”

“Which one?”

“Anthony versus who?”

“That someone?”

...

Amid the murmurs, Lian Fei emerged from the competitors' tunnel.

“Is this that someone?” someone in the audience asked.

“Huh? Who?”

“That someone, you know.”

“I’m going crazy, who is she?”

“Didn’t the referee just say? That someone!”

...

Conversations like these kept erupting among the spectators.

Lian Fei had keen hearing; upon catching the crowd’s chatter, she raised an eyebrow and curled her lips into a mischievous smile.

She had deliberately chosen this ID.

Fun, isn’t it?

Lian Fei stepped to the center of the ring. Opposite her stood a towering man about six feet tall, wearing a solid black full-face mask, his muscular build imposing.

“Newbie?” Anthony’s rough voice carried a strong sense of intimidation.

Lian Fei responded with a cool “Mm-hmm?”

“Just a show-off,” Anthony sneered, then immediately stepped back two paces, clutching his mech necklace. The next moment, his mech began to unfold.

Without hesitation, Lian Fei drew out her mech necklace and activated hers as Anthony retreated.

Anthony was clearly an expert; his mech deployed with remarkable speed.

Had Lian Fei deployed simultaneously, she would have been sliced by Anthony’s blade already.

But her reflexes were sharp. As soon as her mech finished unfolding, she drew her metal blade to block the strike.

The clash of metal rang out sharply—this was their first engagement.

It was obvious, however, that Anthony’s weapon far outmatched Lian Fei’s.

Noticing a faint crack forming on her blade, Lian Fei quickly stepped back, releasing some of the pressure between her blade and Anthony’s, letting her weapon slip downward.

Then she twirled her blade around the back of her hand with a flourish and reversed it, slicing straight toward Anthony’s neck.

Her speed was staggering; before Anthony could react, the blade had already reached his neck.

From a quick glance at Anthony’s mech joints and design, Lian Fei identified it as a power-type mech.

Such mechs were bulky and heavy, boasting high defense.

Their weakness lay in their lack of agility, with cumbersome components.

To prevent joint stiffness during movement, these mechs had looser joint connections and wider gaps than others.

Lian Fei’s plan was to exploit those gaps to sever the mech’s joints.

However, as she aimed through one such gap, she struck a reinforced joint.

Anthony had clearly fortified the joint, making it difficult to sever.

The dull clang of metal echoed, causing Lian Fei to hesitate.

“Heh.” Anthony understood her intention. “You think that junk mech of yours can break through my A-grade armor?”

With that, Anthony swung his massive fist fiercely at Lian Fei’s head.

The collision thundered, shaking the surrounding area with deafening noise.
